I've been out of the abbey two days, I've beaten a lawman senseless, I've fallen in with criminals. I watched the captain shoot the man I swore to protect. And I'm not even sure if I think he was wrong.

Book ,'Serenity'

Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Nora, so jealous. Love The Gumbo Shop and some of the others. For next time add Elizabeth's in Bywater to your list. I really hope I can go back to NOLA in March, it's become a highlight of my year.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

How can you have a roast beef po-boy without gravy?

I think they're best with just mayo and gravy, so they blend and form a glorious sauce that you can mop up with french fries.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

Shir, nice work on getting the pics up! The Girl is fine with you editing her back into them. I'd like to show off my beautiful fiancee, so I'm good with that too! Hope you're feeling better, btw.

Barb and smonster, thank you so much for the compliments :) I am having a slightly horrific bipolar low day and spent all day avoiding mirrors, so your kind comments were so appreciated.

Am at The Girl's family's home for not-New Year (Jewish new yr has been and gone). We are playing Wii. I want to go into hiding and/or sleep, but at least future in-laws are being nice to me.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Erin, you definitely deserve a relaxing NYE.

Nora, welcome home. It sounds like you had a wonderful time.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

I think this is what the kids call a migraine. Ibuprofen not working, feeling nauseated, and just had to ask KBD to turn down the music, and it's one of my CDs. I think a shower and liedown are in order.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Shower achieved, shot of Beam taken, heating pad procured, liedown to commence. See y'all on the flipside.

smonster, if you can tolerate Tylenol, it might help to take some, along with some form of caffeine. Excedrin, which helps for at least some people's migraines (mine, for instance) is asperin, Tylenol, and caffeine. I don't think you should take asperin with the Ibu, but the rest of the cocktail might make a difference.

ETA: Damn, I didn't type fast enough. Ah well, maybe by the time you see this, the full Excedrin cocktail would be do-able. Rest well, smonster, and feel better soon.

Thanks, WS, but caffeine gives me headaches, unlike other people. I believe drinking coffee before eating was a key factor in this one.

Really lying down now.

Oooh, Nora, that sounds amazing!

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Had a seven course Revillion menu on Christmas night at Restaurant August

What's a Revillion menu? (I'm sure the description will make me hungry!)

I finally went to the doctor today because after 2 weeks, the cold is still hanging on, which in and of itself isn't enough to make me call the doctor. However, my chest has been really tight, in an oh-crap-this-feels-like-asthma way (though I haven't actually had wheezing or rales, but I recognize all too well this chest tightness), and I have a dry cough that will not go away.

Doctor gave me an inhaler, an Rx cough suppressant (he said that the OTC ones don't really do much), and antibiotics. I asked if I really needed the antibiotics (with my IBS, I don't want to fuck up my intestinal flora further), he said he's seeing a LOT of Mycobacterium infections that are in the trachea/esophagus/lung area, and they can turn into bronchitis or pneumonia. So I said, Okay, give me the antibiotics!

I do still feel like hell, and I had a low fever at the doctor's office, so I guess I wasn't overreacting by going in to see him.

And then we came back and the dog peed in the dining room. Not while we were gone; after we got back. Not on, Kato! Not on!

I'm going to drug myself and retreat to the bedroom with comics and hopefully get a good long nap, since we're planning to make merry tonight.
