We gotta go to the crappy town where I'm the hero!

Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Mmmm. Jimani has the best burgers. God I need to go back to La.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Dude, that sounds awesome.

Also I am now very hungry.

Nora! Glad you had a great time. That sounds like an awesome NO experience.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

DJ: Ooh, we tried their steak and roast beef po'boys which were great (no gravy on the roast beef though) but will keep the burger in mind next time.

Yes, I am plotting a next time.

We met up with friends about halfway through and one of them is from La, so he and his wife had some favorites they wanted to take us to, like the Camellia Grill, Port of Call, and Five Happiness. They had a car (had driven in from Austin to spend Xmas with his family in Walker) so that was useful and convenient too!

It was a great trip.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I am experiencing TOTAL FOOD JEALOUSY. It burns, it burns!!

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Oh, Seska, you are lovely! I love seeing first pics of Buffistas. And the combined loveliness of all three is wonderful. F2Fs make me happy, even vicarious ones.

I ran away from home to play with punk rockers and not touch a computer for four days.

Sounds like fun!

Erin, no, not a bad person at all.

I have kicked off NYE with a roaring headache. My latest AD seems to make me more prone to them. Boo. I am on the interwebs while KBD rearranges his kitchen counters.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Gad, I'm missing eating and drinking in New Orleans.

Nora, so jealous. Love The Gumbo Shop and some of the others. For next time add Elizabeth's in Bywater to your list. I really hope I can go back to NOLA in March, it's become a highlight of my year.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

How can you have a roast beef po-boy without gravy?

I think they're best with just mayo and gravy, so they blend and form a glorious sauce that you can mop up with french fries.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

Shir, nice work on getting the pics up! The Girl is fine with you editing her back into them. I'd like to show off my beautiful fiancee, so I'm good with that too! Hope you're feeling better, btw.

Barb and smonster, thank you so much for the compliments :) I am having a slightly horrific bipolar low day and spent all day avoiding mirrors, so your kind comments were so appreciated.

Am at The Girl's family's home for not-New Year (Jewish new yr has been and gone). We are playing Wii. I want to go into hiding and/or sleep, but at least future in-laws are being nice to me.
