Oh, yeah. My kids use "beast" as well for something that is good. "Garb" is a new one to me.

I should add that I have never heard them say raw, beast, or garb, and I suspect they'd make fun of anyone who did. Maybe it's an LA thing?
I think cool has moved out of slang and is just a part of casual speech now.
