Jayne (Husband): Oh, I think you might wanna reconsider that last part. See, I married me a powerful ugly creature. Mal (Wife): How can you say that? How can you shame me in front of new people? Jayne (Husband): If I could make you purtier, I would. Mal (Wife): You are not the man I met a year ago.

Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Can't wait to finish the horse-pill antibiotics though. Dang, those are huge.

I feel the same way about prenatal vitamins.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Laga's got the right of it, Vortex. Would she really be satisfied with how you treat her if you did acquiesce to her every whim the moment she had it? But she is a grown up and does not wear a Crown, she should be able to deal with a universe in which she must do things like not get her way every waking moment.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

Yah. Pills suck. And I don't take nearly as many as some people I know. (I particularly hate taking my painkillers, and I know that's because they're socially constructed to equal BAD even when their effect is a very good and useful one.) Like Teppy, though, I care more about the fact that pills make me feel better and able to live a healthier life, than I do that I have to take them.

Hey, Shir? I'm working on the Hebrew thing. I have Rosetta Stone, an awesome program that's teaching me well. But I am so slow. Grr.

I don't want to go to work. I want to wait here for Shane and GC news.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

So I totally empathize with TCG, but look at it from the viewpoint of -- feeling better is so much greater than feeling crappy but drug-free.

I empathize with him too. You've seen the list of what I take on a regular basis. I'm working on concentrating on the positive with him, but he's a stubborn man.

It is hypothyroidism, and they have called in a prescription for the synthetic thyroid.

brillig

Hubby and I both have drug cases for morning and for evening. We'll sit on the bed and fill our cases together. Just another homey ritual. Joy.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Of course it's easy to recognize the game and shout advice from the sidelines. When it was me & my sister I couldn't take it and walked off the field.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

It is hypothyroidism, and they have called in a prescription for the synthetic thyroid.

Tons and tons of people take that, and it is going to make him feel so much better. The thing with cholesterol meds is that there's no appreciable effect -- like, if it brings your cholesterol level down, you don't suddenly get a spring in your step and a perfect singing voice. It's invisible, you know? Same with blood pressure meds.

But getting your thyroid levels adjusted does actually have an appreciable physical effect, and so maybe seeing actual results will make him feel better about needing to take them.
