I am glad both smonster's and Seska's airline problems were solved today. Way too late in each case, but better late than never.
ImememeNews, I have to get a bloodtest done Friday (not a big deal), but I have to be severely hypothyroid for said test. I am exhausted today and my brain is turning to mush. I'm going to be a mess come Friday.
My hour long conference call lasted 1:20.
Devout Dolls!
Cool - I looked at that site a few years ago (unless it was another place with two-headed dolls).
And you're featured there: [link]
GC, you and your bump are beautiful.
Hey all, I'm skipping. It was a fairly shitty day today, but hey - tomorrow I'm going to a very awesome sci-fi con. And cutting from university in order to go there, where I'll actually study more history and sociology than in 3 weeks in uni, I reckon. My laugh is evil.
I'm still gathering the nerve to email the really awesome lecturer I had last year who really pushed me forward and ask him if my notion of doing 2 seminars is wise, and if it is, if he'll support me in front of the head of the history department (who also likes me. I once told him about Buffy. He never heard of it. People are weird. Not sure if he thought I was even more weird afterward). I tried to ambush him today to bring up the subject "casually", but didn't see him in the end. Not sure why I don't have the hutzpa to ask things only for myself (as in, in a way which might trouble others). I should really get over it, but I'm light years away from that. Pfft, self.
Ugh, I had a meeting with my boss that just sucked. But not as much as I do! Scrappy was right about the craptacularly stupid move I made with that snitty email I sent my boss last week, I have been branded unprofessional, which is probably true. I don't even know how to improve (besides not sending stupid emails, of course- but there was a lot of other stuff besides that.)
I can't even be mad at anyone but myself. I am so miserable right now. The good news: I am OK about 80% of the time.
Hey Shir. Sorry you had a crap day, and I hope you have fun at the con.
Was it in here we were discussing wacky student dress? I just saw one in t-shirt, shorts, and bare feet. It's in the low 40s today.
I was worried about that, at the time, Nora. I thought maybe you jumped to conclusions about why he wanted to talk to you. But that's not the kind of thing that happens out of nowhere; you've obviously been unhappy there and with him for a while. Do you need to work there? What are your options? If you need to work there, for whatever reason, I wonder if you can't pro-actively schedule a "clean slate" meeting with your boss (and maybe HR if you think that would be a good idea). One where you get it out there that you'd like to move forward into the next year with a positive attitude, and ask what you and your boss can do to make your environment more pleasant. Hell, this might not be do-able, but I'm trying to think of it from the perspective of a frustrated boss, too.
I think it was not okay for him to ask you to run a personal errand for him, with or without rain. So he might be unsaveable in that regard. However, if you need to continue to work there, it might be in your best interest to suck it up and ask for a "clean slate" meeting.
Oh. Em. Gee. Absinthe flavoured dental floor AND handerpants. [link]

I think this was that meeting.
The rain errand and subsequent snippy email was full out not contested by me as a bad, bad thing I did. But there was all this other stuff that I was dumbfounded by.
Well, I have an interview next week for an interesting opportunity, so maybe that timing will prove fortuitous.
