Watching A Baby Story, getting nervous about the C-section. I've been kind of putting it out of my head, but it's next week. My fibroid surgery was basically a C-s, but the part that's tripping me out is being awake during it.
I was with JZ during her C-section. She was fine the whole time. I didn't love my
view
of the proceedings. I was happy to stay on her side of the screen but the anesthesiologist got excited when Matilda was born and made me look.
JZ was quite constipated and bloated afterwards. So you'll want to ask for something to help deal with that.
You'll be fine. And then...Shane! Your DW should be able to get to go with the baby while it's getting washed and pricked and eyedropped and stuff. Probably depends on the hospital, but I got to go and do that.
Erk, Zenkitty - that's frustrating. I hope you get left alone for at least some of your vacation time.
Calming thoughts pre-C-section, GC.
Shir, you should totally ask how you can make your academic studies take you further in the future. If your professors have any sense at all, they'll realise they want to help you to do that. Best wishes for your sister - whatever she chooses to do, at least she'll be living in a much safer area.

If you were out, you'd have to wait THAT MUCH LONGER to meet Shane.
Easy-baby-getting-out ~ma, GC!
Thanks for the soothing, Bitches.

Yes, she will be accompanying baby through his trials and tribulations. I told her not to leave him alone for a second and the hospital is cool with that. And he will be rooming in with Moms, of course. This time next week, we will have a baby. Crazy talk!

It's good. She'll get to soothe Shane. I recommend letting them suck on your pinkie finger (soft part up on the palate).
I am jealous that she gets to do all that. Wish I could be a part, too.
Also, hope your flu subsides quickly! Being sick sucks.
My DH is the only person I remember in the room, until the doctor said, "It's a girl," and then there were only 3 of us there, as far as I was concerned.
that is so cool! OK, that's not the right word, but it did give me a lump in my throat. Not good at work, but who cares. Loved it!
Shir, continued IDF~ma for you and your family. It sounds like she won't be on the wall anymore, right? Although, intel? I hope it's the analyze side and not the gathering side of it.
Aimee, I confess, I tend to be a bit curmudgen when it comes to holiday parties. But only because I'd rather just go home early than stay at work. Sad part of having a workplace with multiple big rooms where folks hold events. We can hold an event and save money. But that means partying at work. And. Well. That is work. And usually they ask me to provide sound, so blah humbug. But I am *NOT* rude like you are describing. Ugg. Grow up people! For a song idea, I suggest "Santa Claus and his Old Lady" by Cheech & Chong!
I also work in Not-For-Profit, and have yet to get a cash bonus. BUT! The designer who didn't show up for Christmas Carol due to illness says he's sending me some cash for doing all his work! SuWEET! I call it money for Christmas Gifts!
This time next week, we will have a baby.
That is so awesome. In, like, the real sense.

In the eighties I knew an old dude who would say "'Awesome' should be reserved for God and the Grand Canyon."
And Shane.
