Insofar as I do work freelance, I guess all I can offer is the Snot Boogie reason. They were supposed to let me play. This America, man. You know? IJS. DH is the same way (well, some of his freelance work IS in an office, but you know what I mean), and I'm dead serious when I say I really admire it. There's a whole nother layer of work on top of the actual work that I couldn't deal with, and people who can impress the hell out of me.
