And yes, people justify their discomfort all the time, with various levels of accuracy and veracity. And that is most certainly problematic. See above re: P-C's parents.

(It's one of the new water-saver ones with a weird-shaped bowl so that it's impossible to get a seal with the plunger, so trying to use the plunger just ends up splashing water everywhere. There's a weird-shaped plunger in the bathroom closet, and I tried that one, but it didn't do anything.)

No! Don't do that! I read their forums once, trying to understand their brains. I realized two things: one, that their brains are very similar to my favorite spam: "I’m currently being held prisoner by the Russian mafia penis enlargement penis enlargement and being forced to post spam comments on blogs and forum! If you don’t approve this they will kill me". Two, that the true definition of "self hating Jew" is a leftist who reads their forums.
