Aren't they something. They're like butterflies, or little pieces of wrapping paper blowing around.

Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I missed Deena again!

So we're in Vermont and just saw two vans for the Northern Paranormal Research society parked nearby. I knew I shouldn't have brought that Stephen King novel with me.

Grumble... grrr.

I called the apartment handyman earlier in the week to let him know I was taking Thur and Fri off, and to use that time to fix the handful of things that *still* need fixing from when I moved in. He replaced one of the two broken toilet seats, and fixed the leak under the kitchen sink. But spent HOURS trying to fix the hose for the dishwasher drain. I said on the phone it needs replacing. No, he thinks it can be salvaged. And yet, it took hours and it's still not fixed. I'm guessing it's a $15 hose. Rather than spend that money, he'd rather waste a ton of time. I'm guessing he gets paid more than $15/hr. But no, it's better to waste time trying to fix an old hose. And both toilets still have a slow leak through the flapper, so it's wasting water. And that doesn't count the whole list of stupid stuff that haven't been addressed at all. And when will I get a weekday off again? I have no clue. Grrrrrrrr.

Add to that, I didn't get nearly as much done today, because I had to wait for him to show up. And mom's coming to visit. Grrr.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Continued good wishes for amyth's brother.

And a sigh of relief for Raq.

Deena! >tacklehug!< So good to see you here, and I'm sorry about all the bad stuff. I hope it gets better starting (checks watch) now! Kara just continues to be a role model of mine for getting the best out of life, approaching everything with the expectation of adventure and excellence. I love that quality. I lack it, severely.

I wonder what they're investigating, sj!

Good luck on the house stuff, Seska.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

She's a happy girl. I got to meet one of the creators of Phineas and Ferb online (he's planning to submit one of our first graphic novels)

HOLY CRAP! That's cool! I'll tell Owen and he will be jealous.

Ahem. As it happens I have some Phineas and Ferb songs on my hard drive so if anybody needs "Phinendroids and Ferbots" (for example) let me know.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

That song is SO much better in the original German: [link]

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Via Pharyngula,

A game company hid a tiny little clause inside their long boring legal disclaimer that gave them the ownership of your immortal soul. Apparently, Gamestation now owns 7500 souls.

This was not a good deal, though. If you'd read the legalese, there was a checkbox to opt out of the soul clause…and if you opted out, Gamestation gave you a £5 coupon.

[On Edit: not in games thread, but I wonder if someone already linked it there.]

Moms couch surfing. I'm watching six feet under in the bedroom on the work laptop. But left the power supply at work. D'oh!!

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

Had we not needed to postpone it, we'd be getting married in the garden of a country house in Oxfordshire today. I've never been so happy in my life that it's a grey, cold, damp day.

Sox, much sympathy that the digging outside your house is still causing chaos. (We decided we would go away for two days next week, after all. Costing a fortune to get an accessible room, but will be worth it for two fewer nights of noise.)

Much health~ma for amyth's brother.

Seska, may the day you choose be as perfect for you and The Girl as this day was not.
