Set apart, out of respect....
I landed my first freelancing research gig one day after setting up freelancing services! I'm so thrilled.
My condolences to Steph, Tim, and Tim's family.
Congrats Erin!
I know of a site that functions as a compilation tool for travel/vacation information. I'm currently using it for our India trip. Here's a link. [link]
When you find a page with info you can click a save button in the browser and it will save it to your trip. It will also print out your own personal travel guide.
On a lighter, but more evil note, I bring you footage of a bird singing the Imperial March: [link]
Congrats, Erin!
If you're looking for somewhere in Turkey other than Istanbul (and don't get me wrong, Istanbul shouldn't be missed), I recommend Kusadasi on the southwestern Asian coast. Kusadasi itself is a pleasant seaside resort town. But more important, it's an easy drive to the ruins of Ephesus. And you really, really should see the ruins of Ephesus.
I can't be as helpful for Greece. Other than must-see sights in Athens, I only saw Mykonos and the Corinth Canal. I highly recommend Mykonos. I got heatstroke on the Corinth Canal, so I'm not sure I can be fair to it.
My hairdresser is from Mykonos. In fact, that's the name of her salon.
My condolences to Tim and Steph and the whole family.
ION, I think I've just about got everything packed. This isn't quite the same as being ready to move -- there are a bunch of cleaning things that I really can't do until the boxes are out of my apartment, and I still need to figure out where a few more things are going -- but I'm more or less done with what I can do right now. I can't lift the boxes well enough to stack them more than two high, so pretty much all floor space is covered with boxes. Final count as of right now is 41, but there may be one or two more. I still need to disconnect and pack up my Tivo and DVD player, but since the movers aren't coming until about noon, I might leave that until tomorrow morning.
Discovery for today: an empty spaghetti box is the perfect size to hold kitchen knives. Also, in the back of a drawer, I found those buffista business cards that someone made a few years ago. (Who made those? I can't remember. Whoever it was, they're still awesome.)
