Simon: I, uh... I never-never shot anyone before. Book: I was there, son. I'm fair sure you haven't shot anyone yet.

'War Stories'

Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

My condolences to Tim and Steph and the whole family.

ION, I think I've just about got everything packed. This isn't quite the same as being ready to move -- there are a bunch of cleaning things that I really can't do until the boxes are out of my apartment, and I still need to figure out where a few more things are going -- but I'm more or less done with what I can do right now. I can't lift the boxes well enough to stack them more than two high, so pretty much all floor space is covered with boxes. Final count as of right now is 41, but there may be one or two more. I still need to disconnect and pack up my Tivo and DVD player, but since the movers aren't coming until about noon, I might leave that until tomorrow morning.

Discovery for today: an empty spaghetti box is the perfect size to hold kitchen knives. Also, in the back of a drawer, I found those buffista business cards that someone made a few years ago. (Who made those? I can't remember. Whoever it was, they're still awesome.)

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

There is drumming happening again. Please oh please do not let this become a daily occurrence.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Ah, that TravelMuse site is fab. Thanks, everybody!

Downside to this gig? Now I totally want to visit Greece!

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

I'm hoping today becomes one of those family stories for Shane. One that makes him roll his eyes because people used to be so stupid

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

but it would be fun to meet up!

It would! There's lots of cool pre-Christmas stuff to do in SF. We'll make sure you're well fed.

I just had a veggie burger topped with avocado, tater tots, and an Abita Purple Haze. I am nicely mellow. Why did I not notice until the day before I moved that the bar down the block has Abita on tap?

I think I'm now at 41 boxes, one big duffel, one big suitcase, two medium-sized suitcases, and one small duffel. Plus a couch, bed, desk, table, microwave, TV, and three bookcases. And a guitar and a vacuum cleaner.

My bookshelves look weird empty.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I love those cards. Most of them have been damaged or lost in the years. I wonder who has the templates?
