'Out Of Gas'

Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Hey Nora, did I mention I'ma be in New Orleans for Labor Day weekend, for Decadence? I'd love to do a meal with you (especially since all the meals, breakfast lunch and dinner, that you've posted on your blog, have looked AMAZING!)

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

when are you in and out, meara? We are actually flying to Boston for a wedding- out Saturday and back Monday, but if you are around Friday or Monday evening...? Or earlier or later than that, of course...

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

Steph, your willingness to pray the rosary in support of the Boy's family is lovely. I'm sure it was helpful for them.

So exhausted after the UK Feminista summer school, which was utterly fantastic. I even did a session that people seemed to enjoy (although I need to work on the 'interactive' bit of my training sessions. I like the sound of my own voice too much).

Thank you for all the ~ma, lovely Bitches. The Girl is in Edinburgh (tech-ing two shows at the festival) for the next week, so she's only getting occasional updates. But her dad seems to be out of immediate danger, and they're pumping him full of antibiotics in an attempt to keep it that way.

Happy belated to Shir!

Seska, I am now pondering what box to pack your Mac&Cheese in. My current favorite is shoe box in which we have been keeping cat toys. Someone, who shall remain nameless, wrote on it "pussycat playthings" back when we first put the stash of cat toys in it.

Andi, you are so adorable! (And I would be amused at getting it in the 'pussycat playthings' box.) You want me to e-mail you my address?

sj, elopement sites sounds exciting! Hope you find a great venue.

I'm all about the ceremony being private and simple and perfect and doing the celebrating with family and friends later. But I may be biased.

I'm sort of wondering if TG & I are the only people left who want a big(ish) ceremony. It's funny, 'cos I am in no way a people person. And we might split up the legal ceremony and the religious blessing, so that the first has only a very few family as guests. But we're keen on doing something in front of everyone we know. Currently. Ask me again around March when we're deep into planning and I may have another answer. :S

I am having post-show blues today. You know when you go see an awesome band at an awesome show and then the next day it's over and you don't know how anything could be that awesome ever again?

Yup. Who did you see?

Who's tipsy on a Sunday night and has two thumbs?

Heh. Well, I'm currently getting tipsy on a Monday night. The stress got a bit much. Yay for the summer school delegates who stayed with us this weekend and gave us a bottle of wine as a gift.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Yup. Who did you see?

Local band. Just the whole venue/band everything was awesome. I saw this band [link] here [link] for their parking lot pool party and cutoffs contest.

It was a really good time.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

Spidra, sorry to hear about your grandmother. Don't feel guilty.

Teppy, continued ~ma to you and your boy.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Seriously, people, wear your seatbelt.

Yes, please. The accident I posted about a while back where the teenager died and the other young people were all very badly injured? none of them were wearing seatbelts. Most of the injuries they had were caused by being thrown from the car and hitting the pavement.

Teppy, The Boy is very lucky to have you.

G's mom has asked me if I am interested in watching G for a half day every Friday when the school year starts. I told her I would get back to her. Her school has dropped her to 4/5th's time, which means a half a days work on Fridays, but should would have to pay for a full day of daycare, which would kind of suck with her reduced salary. Must think.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

continued strength and Teppy --- and an extra super secrect bonus point for not telling the Boy.

No guilt Spidra, and glad you can be there for your mom.

and sj , -- have G's mom come up with a back up plan . there are days when you'll be sick or just need them for other reasons and if there is a plan you'll feel more comfortable. Of curse, you might prefer to be the backup plan

Yeah, that is what I am thinking. We have some long weekend plans already, like T's wedding when we're going to be in Dallas. I'm fairly sure if I let her know ahead of time that her mother-in-law can come visit for the weekend. And she and her hubby both work at a schools, so if the winter weather is bad enough, it's a strong possibility that one of them with have a snow day anyway.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I'm sorry for your loss, Spidra. Please don't feel guilty for feeling what you feel.

Sending coping vibes to Steph and The Boy.
