Angel: Just admit it: you think you're gonna ride in, save the day, and sweep Buffy off her--Spike: Like you're not thinking the same thing. Angel: I'm already seeing somebody. Spike: What, dog girl?

'The Girl in Question'

Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Ooh.

Our wings are not tired.

Brenda, you've pretty much described a Subaru Outback as your perfect car.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Oh, Connie. That is of teh suck. Much ~ma for your sister.

Brenda you would also do really good in a BMW Five series wagon. The cars are built like tanks and tend to last forever so you can buy one at a great savings that is a few years old. They handle like a dream and have a ton of space and power. I purchased my 3 series with almost 50,000 miles on it and it felt like it was brand new.

Urgh, fuck cancer. A coworker died yesterday. I only worked with her for about four months before the doctors realised that her bad leg was being caused by a brain tumour. She’d been in a hospice in London since, and then a few weeks ago went home to Ireland.

They’ve already promoted someone to take on her duties, but are also hiring a new person too; she’d been doing the work of two people for ten years or so, apparently.

Mostly I’m sad that I didn’t know her better.

In less thread-killingly sad-making news - I'll be going to my first baseball game when we're in Boston in August. There's a day game on G's birthday, which is a Wednesday, which is apparently all the fates aligning because that never happens, or something.

Apparently it's like cricket in that I can drink beer the whole time, but not like cricket because I'm not allowed to chat through the whole thing.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I'm sorry, Connie.

Toast and peanut butter:

Hil, I've had a Fit for two years now, without a bit of trouble. It's a small car that holds a surprising amount of stuff, and it gets great gas mileage. If you're going to be doing a ton of highway driving it might not be your best bet, but otherwise, it might be a good substitute for the Mini. Mine was about $13,000, which I believe is a bit cheaper than the Mini, too.

not your mom's socks.

Laura, I was being flip - you are a great mom; the remark was entirely Sears' fault. They call forwarded me in a circle of despair. Thank you & ND and everyone who posted for your support.

Pulled muscle and allergies = awake since 4am. Bah.

Hil, we love our Scion, but Not So Much in bad winters.

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

I just set up a call for a guy claiming to be suffering from priapism for "a few days now." Seriously, DAYS?!?! I really wanted to ask a whole bunch more questions but he was clearly so drunk that just getting out "priapism" almost caused a coronary.

The amusement from this momentarily relieved my annoyance at having thrown out my neck by rolling over in bed this morning. It can't be tomorrow afternoon soon enough. (silly chiropractor, not working mornings.)
