That was interesting. I'd submitted my information for price estimates from a few moving companies. The first one to call me back told me that they're expensive and I can probably get a better price elsewhere, and they told me to look at movingscam.com to find someone reliable.

Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Huh? Maybe it is where you are going. Sometimes a moving company only covers a certain area with their own people, and just subcontracts to whoever they can find for other areas.
They said that they don't subcontract to anyone. They did give me an estimate and told me to call back if I wanted to hire them, but also told me to try some other places, too.
My guess is they can do the move for you, but not very efficiently for where you're moving to - hence the higher price and the suggestion to look elsewhere.
IME, that kind of answer is usually code for "Your job is too small for our company but instead of saying No, we're going to overcharge you and hope you go away."
Or they may only be interested in larger contracts.
Since the Buffista parents are having problems with the sprog at various ages, perhaps the job of raising them could be split up - someone who's really good with infants takes over any Buffista infant and then, at the next stage, passes them on to the toddler specialist. Whoever takes the teens gets a bonus, like combat pay.

It takes an island. Buffista Island. I'll go get a lottery ticket, maybe that'll help us get it started.

That's basically the old kibbutz system.
So who's the teen specialist?
