Well, other bands know more than three chords. Your professional bands can play up to six, sometimes seven, completely different chords.

Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Good luck, Hil, and congrats on the job!

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Hil, don't forget most unis can provide temp housing for new profs and some kind of moving advice -- when I worked for KU, I lived for the first week in temp housing while waiting for my apartment to be ready. Ask them what resources they have to help new profs.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Is it a law that the phone always has to ring as soon as the toddler falls asleep? Luckily he is way too tired to wake up. He had a minor surgery the other day and he is all sorts of cranky.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Is it a law that the phone always has to ring as soon as the toddler falls asleep?

Yes. It's a subsection in the same regulations that govern how long you have to hold it if you need to pee and are expecting the Fed Ex guy.

Now tagless for your comfort.

sj, it's also a law that someone will ring the doorbell or a dog will start barking as soon as an infant falls asleep. Universal truths.

Is totally true! It never fails that as soon as I get Shane down, an ambulance or cop comes down the street with siren blaring. Curses! Of course, that's what we get for living on a busy street...

ETA: Go, Hil!

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

So after not talking to my parents for a couple weeks (and not even being called), I answered the phone yesterday and talked to my dad, and it went okay. This morning I called my mom since they're leaving for a vacation to Boston, and it went okay. It was actually nice to hear their voices when they're not part of traumatic conversations that ruin my day. I'm sure the Issue has not been completely resolved, but we'll see how things go.

Now I have to figure out whether I want to go to India with the family in December. It's been six years since the last time, and this time it'll be more traveling/vacation like it was the first or second time I went, which could be nice.

Our wings are not tired.

Happy Birthday to Zenkitty!

Yay for non-drama phone calls.

P-C, wouldn't this be the "find him a bride in India" trip? I mean, I suspect even if you didn't want it to be your mom would not be dissuaded.

BTW, is girl from okCupid Gujarati, or just other-Indian-which would still be more acceptable to the parents?
