What exactly will you be/be doing, Hil? Is it a all teaching position, a short term thing, something you can see staying at a while?
It's a one-year teaching position. I'm not sure if there's the possibility of renewing for a second year. There's officially no research component, but I'm going to keep working on my research while I'm there.
Fantastic news, Hil! I'm so happy for you.
Congrats Hil!
I finally get to go home tomorrow.
I think that we should get a bunch of Buffista families to all do the Nickelodeon All Access cruise together. There's one in the Caribbean in Feb, and in the Mediterranean next June. They are actually a ton of fun and amazing for families.
Thanks!
Anybody have any advice on how to move a few hundred miles in less than a month? I'm figuring I'll hire movers (for moving down here, we rented a U-Haul and my dad and I moved everything, but I've got way more stuff now and I'm less able to do heavy lifting.) I know I'm going to end up paying rent on both the old and the new apartment for August. I can maybe drive out there and go look at apartments this weekend, or I could throw caution to the wind and rent something that I've only seen on the internet. I need to buy a car. I also need some new clothes, since, aside from a few interview outfits, I own almost nothing work-appropriate right now.
Congrats, Hil! I'm so glad to hear you got the job!
Nora could probably give you some tips!
