...because God knows you need some satisfaction in life besides shagging Captain Cardboard! And I never really liked you anyway. And you have stupid hair!

Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Toe stuff, whitefonted for the moderately squeamish:

My toe won't stop leaking plasma. It's not infected. It doesn't really hurt. It's just irritating. I'm on my third band-aid today already, and this is possibly the stupidest reason ever to want to go home, and yet I do.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Yeah, Dana, I can see how that would be icky enough to make a person wish she could be not at work.

ETA: I'm picturing the reason for this, is that your toe had a transporter accident, and this is just a wacky by-product of how your molecules got put back together.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I skimmed a lot. Jessica, huge congrats! And whoo-hoo to DJ on getting the India trip!

Laga, did you find a home for your kitty? Because I was *this close* to flying to California to get her.

Sean, I'm enjoying the hell out of your vacation updates! It sounds wonderful!

not your mom's socks.

So I've been lurking a lot due to work and family things. And over the past couple of months watching people here take risks and try new stuff, I have been thinking a lot about going back to school for a phd kind of... which is nice to think about but a 'thanks but we don't need you right now' on a small project yesterday and a whole set of requests on a largish project that do not make any sense and make redundant a lot of things I've done lately have me wondering if applying for grad school and getting rejected is going to make bad even worse.

On the plus side, I've survived at the vc-craxy job for an amazing 12 months and have done a lot of cool things and worked with some very talented people and yet? really am ready for my life to stop resembling a strip from The Oatmeal so much.

IOW today = epic fail

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Have I mentioned yet today how much I hate my upstairs neighbors?

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

Today has been an interesting day. I drove out to Riverside to pick up a parcel that the movers delivered to the wrong drop off point. A nice 122 mile, 3 hours journey. But it has the battery back up for my computer, which is kinda heavy, and the elevator is not working in my building. Apparently a fuse in the emergency light is blown, they don't make the part anymore, and the elevator won't work with out the emergency safety light. OK, so I'm not going to food shop without elevator. Not going to do laundry without elevator. And apparently the owner of the building is shifting management companies, and I didn't get word yet. Glad I didn't do billpay for rent, or head downtown to give the rent check. Apparently someone from the new company will be coming by today to let me know the new info.

Interesting, huh? OK, I should really do some cleaning/unpacking/housework. Maybe after I get something to eat. (What? Me? Procrastinate? Never!)
