[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

not your mom's socks.

So I've been lurking a lot due to work and family things. And over the past couple of months watching people here take risks and try new stuff, I have been thinking a lot about going back to school for a phd kind of... which is nice to think about but a 'thanks but we don't need you right now' on a small project yesterday and a whole set of requests on a largish project that do not make any sense and make redundant a lot of things I've done lately have me wondering if applying for grad school and getting rejected is going to make bad even worse.

On the plus side, I've survived at the vc-craxy job for an amazing 12 months and have done a lot of cool things and worked with some very talented people and yet? really am ready for my life to stop resembling a strip from The Oatmeal so much.

IOW today = epic fail

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

in the opinion of someone who just named her new netbook Parker (because it is the thief of my time).

Niiiiiice!

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Have I mentioned yet today how much I hate my upstairs neighbors?

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

Today has been an interesting day. I drove out to Riverside to pick up a parcel that the movers delivered to the wrong drop off point. A nice 122 mile, 3 hours journey. But it has the battery back up for my computer, which is kinda heavy, and the elevator is not working in my building. Apparently a fuse in the emergency light is blown, they don't make the part anymore, and the elevator won't work with out the emergency safety light. OK, so I'm not going to food shop without elevator. Not going to do laundry without elevator. And apparently the owner of the building is shifting management companies, and I didn't get word yet. Glad I didn't do billpay for rent, or head downtown to give the rent check. Apparently someone from the new company will be coming by today to let me know the new info.

Interesting, huh? OK, I should really do some cleaning/unpacking/housework. Maybe after I get something to eat. (What? Me? Procrastinate? Never!)

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Zenkitty, Persephone the cat is spending a week at my parents' house and then I may have a home for her. If not she could be yours along with many fine accessories.

Eh, on the whole, it's just a thing. If nothing else, it provides an *excellent* excuse to do nothing.

Omnis that does not sound like fun. But excuses to do nothing are good.

The status is NOT quo.

I was hesitant about Parker as a female dog's name until this moment when Zen's post reminded me of the most awesome Parker! D'oh! I'm only the one who had WWPD? as her tagline for most of the last year.

Parker Posey von Pilsner is kind of an awesome name aside from the part about Parker Posey herself, who I don't care about enough to name a dog after. Hmm...

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

You could claim she's named after Dorothy Parker.
