askye, I'm not just saying this because *I* have it (you know how, when someone gets diagnosed with something, they think that everyone has it? my dad used to do it with heart disease all the time -- I'd say I was tired [at age 21] and he'd say, in Eeyore-voice, that *he* thought it was probably heart disease and I should see a cardiologist -- not that 21-year-olds can't have heart disease, and given my family history it's possible, but he wasn't the most reliable diagnosticator, you know?), but I'm wondering if your pain is gastrointestinal, like IBS or IBD.

I'm only wondering because I had a lot of pain last year in the pelvic area, so I assumed it was ladyparts-related. I got the dildocam ultrasound, and nothing. And then it turned out to be IBS.

I'm really not trying to be like my dad and diagnose you with what I have, but the symptoms are similar-ish, although your description of it the other night (a "spherical" pain, I think, plus didn't you say it kind of goes down your hip/thigh?) wasn't similar to my gastrointestinal issues. But some of the other symptoms are, so since nothing else is showing up on tests, maybe that's something to talk to your doctor about.

askye, best wishes for a speedy discovery of what's wrong. Having spent 28 years undiagnosed, I know the frustration of not being taken seriously by doctors. You sound like you're pushing it, which also sounds like totally the right thing to do. I hope they figure out what it is really soon.

Saturday. Day for the first of my two criminology essays. Classical criminology vs positivism. Not the most exciting subject ever. I'm having 'what the hell should I do with my life?' issues. It was always the plan that I lived on my savings this (academic) year and focused on PhD funding, but I get *so bored* - despite needing to sleep a lot and only having about three really productive hours a day, most days. Gah. Sometimes I hate being a sickly person. I want to teach. Hmm.
