I live with a mad scientist. (Possibly Dr. Horrible.) If he can't come up with self-boiling doorknobs, then I AIN'T DOING IT.
Self-boiling doorknobs would certainly add that element of risk every time you wanted to open the door.
'Safe'
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Maria, I'm thinking about you and your mother. I hope it's something minor and she can get back to recovering quickly.
Oh my doG people, this cruise is taking forever and I'm so bored. I know that sounds lame but the shows are behind so I have nothing to do and I'm not a huge fan of sea days on cruise ships anyway.
Ahem. Please ignore the man with cabin fever.
How about a nice game of shuffleboard?.. or you can pretend to be a figurehead.
Best wishes for your mother, Maria.
Jessica, congratulations to all three of you, and very best wishes!
Having spent a few days on my own in a resort I didn't love in Cancun recently, I feel you. And I just got the $350 phone bill I apparently ran up needing to use the internets to keep myself sane. Oy.
yay Jessica!
happy birthday JZ

While I would be fine on a cruise. -- not so sure there would be enough for DH to do
Today we did not brunch with buffistas - instead there was brunch with my sister and BIL then a concert in the park ( my sister has been away for a while ) . It was enough for me in this heat, but Matt is now in the garage fixing someone's stringed instrument ( a banjo?}
Aims food poisoning update:
She's okay. She's resting, and has been most of the afternoon/evening. The symptoms are mostly gone, it seems. I hope she'll feel all better by morning.
Quick recovery wishes, Empress! And thanks for the update, MM.
The pita place that recently opened near me has feta cheese mixed into their "original" hummus. Who puts cheese in hummus? Or, at least, who puts cheese in the default hummus? I guess I can see it as a topping or mix-in or whatever, but not an ingredient in the plain hummus.
