Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Good morning, my fine lovelies!! I am *THAT* person this fantastic Monday - inexplicably peppy and happy that the day is here! Took Emeline to her first day of summer school, heard one of my ALL TIME favorite, happy making songs on the radio (srsly - they never play that song!) on the way to work, and I am ready to face anything today!
t skips away, strewing rose petals, glitter, and smiley faces
May everyone have as great a feeling today as I am having right now!!
Wow -- even with a sunburn?
(PSSST....who thinks Aims took some "special sunburn medicine" today?!)
Even with a sunburn! Which isn't as owie as I thought it would get!
Felicitations Aims!
I woke up super cheerful today as well.
May this Solstice day be bright, energetic and illuminating for my beloved Buffistas. Let the Sun shine in!
May you be forever blessed.
now I'm earwormed with the 5th Dimension. Sorry about that/
OH!! It's the solstice!! That's TOTALLY what it is! I am a Summer Girl - I THRIVE in the summer!
(Ok - It's also S.A.D., but let's not go there.)
Oh, hey, solstice! Happy Longest Day!
I am always confused....is Midsummer Night's Eve the night before the soltice, or the night of? It seems like it sound be the night before.
Watch out for rampaging fairies -- they're outside ur house, ridin ur livestock, sourin ur milk!
is Midsummer Night's Eve the night before the soltice, or the night of?
Why isn't Midsummer Night in, like, early August? June is the start not the middle of summer. (I'm sure there's some etymological explanation, but if I were a stand-up comedienne, that would totally be one of my lines.)
Although Midsummer is originally a pagan holiday, in Christianity it is associated with the nativity of John the Baptist, which is observed on the same day, June 24, in the Catholic, Orthodox and some Protestant churches. It is six months before Christmas because Luke 1:26 and Luke 1.36 imply that John the Baptist was born six months earlier than Jesus, although the Bible does not say at which time of the year this happened.[1]
It's also S.A.D., but let's not go there
Hint to file away for future reference: a tanning salon isn't a perfect substitute for natural sunlight, but it helps.
Realized I haven't given a Max update in a while. He had another round of bloodwork last week. To translate from medical to English, he's still fighting an infection. But there are fewer signs of that, which means (especially since he's acting more Max-like) that there's less infection to fight. I think the specialist wants to do a more thorough biopsy of whatever is in his nose, but she's willing to wait (at least a bit) while Max is improving. His weight is up a little bit, too -- he's fairly steady at 7 pounds (we'd like him closer to 9). And he's fighting the meds harder.
Urgh!
I have a friend on FB. She's a friend from HS, she's a great woman, lots of fun, but HMOG needy and intruding. She invites herself to EVERYTHING if you post it where she can see it. I should be able to post about plans I make with people without worrying about her inviting herself somewhere I don't necessarily want her to go. Jeebus.
