Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

Happy anniversary, Shari!

That said, the stand on the right, walk on the left thing is STRICTLY followed. I’ve never seen anyone not do it. Don’t know what would happen if it did.

Pain, death, apocalypse. Really really.

P-C, which book is your Death quote (I'm assuming!) from? I'm getting behind on my Pratchett reading!

You guys are reminding me I need to Bookcrossing some stuff.

I have two books labelled up and ready to go Bookcrossing. I still have a hard time giving books away, despite the fun.

Aaand bedtime.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Ha, it is not from Discworld, actually. It's from this xkcd.

But! I have been wanting to change it, and I am reading Discworld right now, so perhaps I will find a good Death quote (or anyone quote) to use.

Heh. It would work for Death rather well. (My favourite Death quote: "I DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU, BUT I COULD MURDER A CURRY.")

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

I guess there's nothing to be done, if the cops don't give a shit, and I can't build a motion-activated directional electromagnetic pulse generator.
Write a letter to city council/mayors office. Tell them that a city ordinance is being ignored, and the police are not enforcing it. IF that doesn't work, consider: [link]
  • *NOTE** If you go that route, be sure to build a Faraday cage around your house, to protect it.

Through a link on their page I found out that there is totally an all local/eat green market at my freaking train stop every Thursday!
Mockingbird Station! OMG! That was one stop from my place in Dallas. Dang it. :: sigh ::

ION- I can't seem to find motivation. Might have to do with lack of sleep last night. I blame the brownies. Might not be a good idea to eat that much chocolate/sugars at 10:30 at night.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Zen, two years ago I started agitating to have a law banning Segway tours from the sidewalks downtown enforced. It had reached the point that it wasn't safe to walk on the sidewalks in the area around my office and, contrary to the law, the tour companies would not only use the sidewalks but to disregard any kind of courtesy or safety.

Almost exactly 18 months later, it started having an effect. So ... persistance, nagging, bringing in anyone you can, will pay off. Eventually.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

flumps into thread

That was an exhausting day. I had the job interview in Richmond. I think the interview went OK, but I'm not really sure. I was being interviewed by four people, and one of them kept commenting on how young I was, and another one, twice, responded to my answer to a question by laughing and saying, "I love her honesty!" when I didn't think I'd said anything all that remarkable. So, I really don't know.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Hey, smonster. Want some veggies? Amyth's not splitting our share this week, as she doesn't think she can eat any of it before she leaves. I have cabbage, green onions, and, even with the addition of sauteeing, some of the summer squash that I'd love to share.

Calling you... now.

Y'all are so hardcore! I love it. We put our trash out about once a month or so. My roommate unfortunately eats a lot of fast food, and I can't really control that.

I wore a different brand of sock than usual today, and now the foot and ankle that I wear the brace on is bright red and bumpy and itchy. I'm just having a moment of, "Seriously? Socks? I can get this uncomfortable just from socks?"

did you wash them before you wore them? If not, it might be the sizing that they put in to make them look nice on the little hanger.

Yeah, I did. My best guess right now is that they're a little bit more slippery than the other brand, and so the brace, which I wear over a sock, was slipping around and rubbing against my skin.
