...this is new. Beginnings of a panic attack, and my feet are getting numb. Usually it's my hands.
I'm not sure I can keep anything down at the moment, but I've got ice cream for later if I want it then.
Anya ,'Bring On The Night'
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I did not get the job with the nuns. It is probably for the best, though.
Oh Hil. Feel better. Everyone on this board (even those of us for whom tact is something you use to nail down carpets) are 100% behind you and well wishing you right now. At some other point I will comment on Thomas. My opinion is, for me, unusually nuanced.

I'd be interested in hearing your opinion.
Hang tough, Hil.
No nun job. Sad.
I am satisfied with my summer adjunct gig at the tech college, but I think I will start sending out resumes to more traditional colleges in the area to try to get a more traditional freshmen comp course, or even a -- please dog -- lit course for the fall. I think I would have a pretty good shot at UMKC, since I have taught there, and still know several people on the faculty there. And there's Park U., and the Metropolitant Community Colleges..
It's so BORING teaching writing without being able to assign readings, just chapters from a text on critical thinking. I miss talking about words and characters.
Sorryish , Nora. A job would be nice, but the right one.
and it sounds like a good idea , Erin
I need to do some stuff, not sure I want to move yet.
I am messing around with my first week's lecture/assignments. And I think I will do some laundry -- I am commando -- and change the cat box.
One of the cats laid a Stank Egg and didn't cover, and changing day is tomorrow anyway.
Not entirely unrelatedly, the editorial assistant position I applied for last June was just posted on the uni website--I have no idea if the person who got it flaked or got a better offer or what, but I just applied, again.
Oh I hope this works out!! That sounds like a great fit for you.
Thanks, flea and omnis. I'll check them out.
Nora, I'm sorry the nun thing didn't work out.
I hope one of your competitors finds the perfect job elsewhere, Hil.
