So, how was your summer? Mine was fun. Saw some fish. Went mad with hunger. Hallucinated a whole bunch.

Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

That was a really tiring shower. And kind of dizzy-making. I don't think I'm going to move from the couch for a while.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I know that the college where I interviewed last week was interviewing three people for two positions. I also know that the last interview was yesterday. I have been obsessively checking my email all day, but no word yet. Maybe tomorrow.

Medical stuff question: When I got fitted for my ankle brace, they said to make an appointment for a second fitting in about a month. They also said that they would call me when it was ready for me to come in for the second fitting. I made the appointment, which is tomorrow morning. They haven't called me to tell me it's ready. I called twice today and left messages asking whether it was ready, but they didn't call back.

I'm going to call again tomorrow morning before the appointment. If there's still no answer, should I go or not? It's a $20 cab ride each way.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

When I am sick, I want to be left alone. House elves should bring me tea, ginger ale, and/or cold OJ without comment. They should quietly pick up the used tissues that are piled up on the table or that have been flung somewhat near the trash can. They should not ask how I'm feeling or if I need anything. I will let them know.

This would be perfect! And to wash the sheets when they get all sweaty and snotty.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Hil, if I were you I wouldn't go until I was sure they were ready for me.

The status is NOT quo.

Sorry to stumble in here and be all meme, but I'm in a lot of pain and don't know what to do. I woke up with my neck all tweaked out again. Took what the doctor prescribed last time and it took the edge off, barely, but went into chiro this afternoon for an adjustment. She adjusted me, I came home and took another round of meds and then a nap, hoping I'd wake up feeling better. Slept on tempur-pedic neck pillow but woke up 30 min ago and am in so much pain I'm considering getting a ride to urgent care or the ER to make sure this isn't a slipped disc or something. I can't drive myself on muscle relaxers and ND is en route to San Diego and I am just sick of all of this and ready to cry from the pain. Dammit.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Pix, if you can find a friend to drive you, I would say go to the ER. You can't continue to be in that much pain.

Actually, I got up, stretched, moved around a bit, and the pain is lessening. Maybe it's just in the healing stage, and the pressure from sleeping on it just aggravated the adjustment? Anyway, not going to question it. I'm assuming it's going to be okay. Thanks.
