Jayne: 'Cause I don't know these folks. Don't much care to. Mal: They're whores. Jayne: I'm in.

'Heart Of Gold'

Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I've completely turned into Renfield!Xander in that every time I sea the word "tea", I follow it up with "bagger" in my head. I am not right in the brain.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Oh, hey P-C! I dug up my pictures from my trip to Budapest, if you want to see them (and anyone else who wants to really).

Oooh, some of that food looks soooo good. Not the dubious juice, I mean. And the churches and statues!

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I can't even begin to parse that sentence.

Yeah, you know how ALL teenagers think that they're special unique snowflakes who nobody understands? In his case, I think it may actually be true...

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Oh, Hungarian food. I hope you like your paprika and salt and pepper, P-C.

(My grandfather escaped Budapest in 1942 to Israel. He had an uncle (or was it a great-uncle? Can't remember) called Arpad. Arpad is almost the Hebrew word for vampire, and I thought it was cool. Most of his family, other than the ones who joined the Allies, didn't make it - we had our solid family grain in Austro-Hungary, and it seems like they've made it there in the late 18th century or the beginning of the 19th century from Eastern Europe, and they had to change their name due to antisemitism to make it sound less Jewish).

All that long story was just to say that 1. in my expended family I'm a heretic because I can't eat spicy things, and 2. now, that I really want to learn more on the history of my family. I really need to drag my dad to Yad VaShem one day, to see what we can conjure up with the scraps we know about my dad's side of the family. I mean, we still don't know how my grandmother made it through the Holocaust - she was from Warsaw.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Decisions, decisions.

Let me refer something - something rather more entertaining than usual - to the hivemind.

I have a $75 gift certificate to Zappos. I don't really NEED any new shoes but, hey ... it's a gift certificate!

My requirements - size 10; flats; no pointy toes, no things between the toes. Nothing that runs narrow ('cause my feet certainly don't).

Suggestions?

(sits back to wait)

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

Wait, what? I like all three of those things. Hmmm, maybe I should try and find some source of Hungarian food here in LA area.

ION- I think I'm connecting with the student that the professors haven't had much luck connecting with! Yes, this is stroking my ego something fierce. She has one more year, and hopefully, she will finally get out there and do things, to learn! Squee! I can see the rush of being a teacher. Even though I am only staff.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

So there I am, in CVS, picking up a couple of things when Joe calls and asks me to tell Emeline that yes, in fact McDonald's is junk food and that eating junk food is not good for us.

I was buying SmartFood popcorn and Hostess cupcakes.
