Decisions, decisions.
Let me refer something - something rather more entertaining than usual - to the hivemind.
I have a $75 gift certificate to Zappos. I don't really NEED any new shoes but, hey ... it's a gift certificate!
My requirements - size 10; flats; no pointy toes, no things between the toes. Nothing that runs narrow ('cause my feet certainly don't).
Suggestions?
(sits back to wait)
Oh, Hungarian food. I hope you like your paprika and salt and pepper, P-C
Wait, what? I like all three of those things. Hmmm, maybe I should try and find some source of Hungarian food here in LA area.
ION- I think I'm connecting with the student that the professors haven't had much luck connecting with! Yes, this is stroking my ego something fierce. She has one more year, and hopefully, she will finally get out there and do things, to learn! Squee! I can see the rush of being a teacher. Even though I am only staff.
These are cute and look like they'd be comfy too:

So there I am, in CVS, picking up a couple of things when Joe calls and asks me to tell Emeline that yes, in fact McDonald's is junk food and that eating junk food is not good for us.
I was buying SmartFood popcorn and Hostess cupcakes.
The Hypocrisy of Parenting.
Those are cute ... sigh ... but most of the little flats are out of the question for me. I've developed arthritis in the big joint at the ball of my foot and anything that hits there is painful.
Wait, what? I like all three of those things. Hmmm, maybe I should try and find some source of Hungarian food here in LA area.
I like them too (well, NSM pepper), but in measure. With Hungarian food... it's pretty much open the jar and spill what you can.
In fact, there are couple of interesting historical documents about Western Europe merchant travelers who traded with Eastern European nobility in the 16th and 17 century, and how they had to escape the meals and try and eat outside - seasoning your food was a sign to that you're rich, and they certainly seasoned theirs. Poor merchants were having hard time with that.
Todd - you might laugh, but as someone who got her fist two pairs this past weekend and hasn't stopped wearing them? Crocs are my new tiaras. I want them all. They are the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. Good arch support, comfy, breathe, anti-microbial. The Mary Janes I have are cute for work, too.
