You know me! I'm like, "Go school! It's your birthday!" Or something to that effect.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

My towel and I are safely home, and Matilda provided much joy by telling me she wanted to show me something in the bottom lobby of the garage and then doing a long and elaborate dance, punctuated by hilarious "no, no, wait" hand gestures and commentary along the lines of "There are SO MANY GAMES to this finger, and I've never heard them before." Also, at one point, as I was urging her along and prodding her to hurry, she groused, "I am hurrying, Mama! Oh my WORD!"

And thanks for not calling me crazy lady. It just felt good, to remember the giddy wonder of devouring the H2G2 series on the commuter rail every night at 14 and 15 and itching for more, more, more. Good to feel that girl present again.

Lots of travel~ma to SLNRLBF (a.k.a. Slartibartfast).

And so much ~ma to Sean.

I do have some fondness for the anarchy that JKR built into her universe. It is far from insignificant that Fred and George are the ones who get the better of Umbridge - perhaps the most loathsome of all the villains. (We have been fulling immersed in Potterverse lately as: (1) Emmett and I are listening to the audiobooks; (2) Matilda is watching the movies; and (3) EM is reading the books for the first time.)

I have worked for an Umbridge on a couple occasions and it was bitter experience.

Umbridge was truly the worst. Bellatrix and the bulk of the Mallfoy/Black clan were nasty, and Valdemorte is, of course, the ultimate, but nobody turned my stomach like that froggy little bitca.

I actually had a boss with an animatronic cat in her office that would come to "life," and purr when you petted it. I mean...I'm okay with real cats. Little furry mammals are okay with me. If they want a scritch I'm there. But this was disturbing.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I can hardly watch anything else with Imelda Staunton in it. Umbridge was a brilliant villian. She was just so horrible and the fact that she thought everything she did was right and just made her even worse.

Truly it was a great performance. I think she's actually an improvement on the character as written. But so loathsome.

The other character who's better on film than on the page is Luna, by Evanna Lynch.

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

{{{{Sean}}}} It sucks that drugs like prozac can take up to a month to feel the effects, and sometimes make things seem even worse in the meantime. I wholeheartedly recommend calling the therapist ASAP, i recall a time when i was given a faster-acting mood enhancer to help the transition time for the longer-acting meds to kick in because the transition just made me way too unstable.

Heck, it took almost 3 weeks for the prozac to start working for my *cat* and he is but 10 pounds.

keep that towel and phone handy in the interim, 'kay?

One of my all-time favorite fanfics is Desk Duty, in which Madame Pince, the librarian, gets the better of Umbridge in a delightfully librarian way. Also, love all the librarian touches (weeding, storage, the Patriot Act...)
