Do you see any goats around? No, because I sacrificed them.

Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

(MIL in the house)

Stephanie, I was just thinking about you and your MIL's visit this morning, possibly because Mark's mom is coming into town for a visit this weekend. How are you doing?

lisah, I'm so sorry. Frank was lucky to have you to love him all his life and to do right by him at the end.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Yay! I have internet and cable tv at home!!

lisah, I'm sorry about Frank. Fred, good luck with Max's tests.

Tom's first day at work went well, I think. He doesn't hate it yet, so that's something! Things are going well.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I don't think the threat gesture should be treated the same as an actual gun; I think "zero tolerance" as it's usually practiced is idiotic. I do support zero tolerance for threats, but it could become difficult to discern threat from play. I don't know what to do; I'm neither a teacher nor a parent, but kids shouldn't be allowed to do that with impunity. I know that when a teenager or an adult makes that gesture at me, I want to beat the hell out of them. It scares me, and that's why they do it: to scare someone. I don't want little kids growing up to become someone I want to beat the hell out of, because no one made it clear to them that that's not right.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Exactly. I don't think it warrants suspension, kids will often mimic what they see other/older kids doing. But, it's an opportunity to educate the child (and classmates at the same time) and if there are anger issues, to address them.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Totally not on the zero tolerance topic, but are canned green beans supposed to have a metallic taste to them? I usually like green beans, canned or otherwise, but these... I threw them out.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

You have zero tolerance of metallic green beans!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

You have zero tolerance of metallic green beans!

Our wings are not tired

Just got a bad phone call.

The woman who has been helping as a caregiver with my mom 5 days a week for the past few years was in a near fatal car accident last night. Questionable if she will ever walk again.

Ugh.

Well, shit, Drew. Much ~ma for her healing. And plenty of ~ma for finding your mother a caregiver.
