And I wonder, what possible catastrophe came crashing down from heaven and brought this dashing stranger to tears?

Drusilla ,'Conversations with Dead People'

Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I want to do this to the neighbors

I will build that and use it, I swear. Where do I find the plans?

No, seriously, I want the plans. What? It's better than the EMP setup I had in mind.

Call the cops. It's a school night.

Do it! Maybe they'll respond better than when I did it. As in, they did nothing.

The status is NOT quo.

Teppy, I'm so sorry.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I need an uplifting song with guitar and drums, no vocals. Not too fast-paced.

Surf guitar? Like Dick Dale's "Miserlou"? Or do you want an acoustic guitar?

I do have a surf guitar version of the "Theme from Lawrence of Arabia" which is pretty boss.

She's looking for acoustic guitar and drums, something uplifting and slow-paced, Hec.

Insent to your profile addy.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Oops, well try the surf guitar (electric) version.

I'll look for something acoustic. I think the Who had several such acoustic plus drums tracks on Tommy.

Yeah, surf guitar isn't the right style. This is for a sound designer friend. The rest of the show is all acoustic solo guitar, and she wants to bring in a little drums at the end.

Thank you regardless!

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

MM, that was hilarious.

Oh, sod it. I'm moving to America.

Um, are you forgetting we have Sarah Palin? Seriously, that's the wrong damn Palin to be stuck with.

Teppy, in your shoes, I would be sorely tempted to blast hymns at them - turn it on, crank it up, and walk out the door on the way to work. Particularly if it's early enough in the morning that they'll still be well and truly hung over. Maybe KLOVE 104.3?

smonster, I'm thinking you are long since asleep. But if you want to do a productivity email round tomorrow, I have some things I need to get done, and I should be around.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

{{Bitches}}

And Zen, I don't think I told you this, but yay! for Leo! I'm truly glad he's OK.

ION, I think Lou converted me from being a cat person into being a dog person. Not that I don't like cats anymore (I still worship them), but it's just that it's so much easier to play with dogs (even if they're a lot more stupid). Neighbor's dog was out for a walk yesterday, and I think he's 1-2 year old, a big one, with all of the excitement of a puppy. He saw me, and without a moment of hesitation he jumped and "hugged" me (two front legs on my hips), while licking my arms and playfully biting them and just looking so happy to meet someone!new.

I forgot how great that feels. Lou wasn't that energetic in such a long time.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

This may be the first time this has been said in a long time

Yes, my American friends keep pointing out the irony and the 'how things have changed'-ness. (What does it say about the Brits that for years while you have a right-wing government we have a left wing one - and then, truly inspired by Obama, we vote in someone I fully expect to morph into Big Brother in a couple of weeks...?)

Oh yeah, that pirate guy was fun. He even got a few votes.

Re: Facebook - I'm barely using it since I discovered twitter and watched as FB opened up people's data to the entire interwebs. I use it to send messages to my friends whose e-mails I've forgotten. Occasionally I cross-post updates with twitter.

More job~ma, Hil.

{{{askye}}} Glad to hear you didn't go to work after a general anaesthetic. You should be resting for at least a day or two. That's a big strain on your body. Hope you feel better soon.

I'm a cat person and The Girl (who is allergic to cats) is a dog person. We might compromise with a pug. They're funny and like cute, stupid versions of cats. That, or I'll pay thousands of pounds for some kind of hypo-allergenic cat. Depends how much we spend on a house.
