I fed off a flowerperson, and I spent the next six hours watchin' my hand move.

Spike ,'Same Time, Same Place'

Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Yeah, lots of Korean and Mongolian places specialize in letting peeps cook their own meat.

I've never been to a Korean BBQ place where the patrons are left completely alone to cook the meat, though - the waiters always hover around you to make sure you're doing it right.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

{{{Hil}}} I hope the pain eases today.

I was up early (for me) this morning doing laundry and clean up, but not the gronk is setting in less than 3 hours later.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

mearaing:

I want Barb in charge of any evacuation situations I might find myself in.

THAT. And since I vaguely remember asking you to adopt me before, I hereby now repeat it.

Hil, {{}} and tons of luck with having an awesome day.

omnis, I hope you copy and save all of these reports somewhere.

Aims, I remember watching Tommy when I was 8-9, unsupervised. I turned out OK, I think.

InmemeN:

I found a new dealer today (for sci-fi TV shows, comics, etc.). As in, lending me stuff. I hope he doesn't think it's a "ask me out to date" clue, because I'm not interested (in him), but I'd really, really like to resume watching BSG.

Also, I discovered free Tourchwood on my VOD last night. It was The Best Thing Ever - someone upstairs loves me. OTOH, my subconscious keeps hating me - today I woke up from a dream on which I was traveling abroad, and spontaneously changed a flight in the airport, and had another dream the night before that Louie was still alive despite everything. Waking up to reality, in both cases, was painful.

In class today, after defending the "outrageous" notion that the Inca had indeed a civilization and an empire despite they didn't have writing (but [link] Quipus), and saying that people have all sorts of ways in delivering myths and concepts - and not necessarily in writing - I was faced with a guy who said that I was "making this stuff [this theory] up" after a few minutes of debate. I was so stunned by this statement, I didn't even continue the debate. Not agreeing with me is one thing, and it's acceptable. Saying I'm a lair (me and all of the other people who said the Inca were an empire, including each and every one of the reports we read), is something else. I'm almost sorry I froze there and didn't continue to answer him, but it's still an almost- not sure I'm willing to debate with an idiot.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I don`t know quite how to say this, but the skinwalker thing is real, although significantly more serious than the way you`re understanding it just now.

OK, just reading the wikipedia article has me jumpy. In broad daylight. Two or three thousand miles away.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Shir, that's just ridiculous.

All I know about skinwalkers comes from Supernatural, and considering how much they've butchered other legends, I'm not counting on that. It matched up pretty well with the wikipedia entry, which makes me wonder if that entry was influenced by the show.

I saw Wicked for the first time last night and cried and cried, hormones only partially to blame. And I couldn't resist buying the anniversary soundtrack (songs in German! and Japanese!). I also got this t-shirt [link] I'm a sucker for merch, sometimes.

"already on the kiss-cam with Karl Marx"-

Dr. Internet said that gnats love vinegar(which we always have; Mom uses it for tons of things) and so far this seems to be true. A bunch of them are doing the Sunset Boulevard thing in it right now, AIFG.

“Not dead yet!”

I also got this t-shirt [link].

Hee! Abby has that same shirt, smonster, although she's totally a Galinda girl, as opposed to Elphaba (so she also has the bright pink "Popular" shirt, although she's outgrown it). I have the bright purple one (don't know if they're still selling that one).

Shit's all sorts of different now.

so she also has the bright pink "Popular" shirt

I have 3. People keep buying them for me. It makes Joe laugh every time because of how much I insisted I was Elphaba when the show first came out.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I also got this t-shirt [link]. I'm a sucker for merch, sometimes.

I have a tshirt that I don't see there. I was pissed when I was buying merch because it was all baby doll Ts. I got an XXL and it barely fits. Fucking ridiculous.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

Liese, have you been to El Morro (I think that's what it was called). That's the Conquistador place I mentioned.

Shir, yes, I thought about marking these posts yesterday while driving, so I marked last nights, now I gotta dig through the past week and find the others. Then I'll put them all in a LiveJournal entry with the pictures I took along the way.

So while the Motel 6 new design is cute, I give it a thumbs down. The non-carpeted floors are cold, no dressers (fine for a one night stay like I am doing, but would suck for a family going to Disney or something!), no tissue box, no alarm clock, no shampoo. The bed was fine, the pillows were super thin. And the towels are tiny and no fluff to them. But, it is very clean, so at least I didn't feel like I caught the plague here.

OK, time to find some breakfast, fill up the tank with gas, and drive into California!
