Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

My cat Ashton develops little bumps or zits on his chin when we use plastic food dishes, for some reason.

This is what I'm told. The plastic, somehow creates an allergic reaction.

I totally sniff Bartleby's breath. Where, before the Plaque Off, it smelled like I expected a dog's breath to smell...the aforementioned dirt eating, et.al...his breath doesn't smell like anything at all. When it does, I know I've been slacking on the brushing.

The burps however, another olfactory event all together.

smonster, yesterday you mentioned how hilarious it is when Frankie burps. I swear, Bartleby purposely puts his snoot to my nose when eh knows he's going to let one rip.

Even more hilarious is when he farts and whips around to see what happened. Slays me every time!

“Not dead yet!”

What's up, Pix?

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

My cats' breath (breaths?) generally smell okay - breath-like. Fishy if they just ate tuna.

Is it possible for a cat to be allergic to fish? Sometimes Leo's eyes get runny, and sometimes he shakes his head like his ears are bothering him - though he doesn't scratch at them. His balance is fine. I wonder if it's the wet food that has fish that's causing it.

The simplest test is to remove the suspected item and see if any improvement occurs.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Mine gets those sometimes but he has a stainless steel dish. I have noticed that if I'm lax on washing said dish is when it happens. As long as I wash it really well 1x/week, we're good.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Bah. I am at work and trying to be productive, because there's actually a lot that needs to get done today, and instead I keep looking at pictures of my flooded city and wanting to cry. Doesn't help that I didn't sleep well last night, we still have no power at home, and I am worried about drinking our tap water. I personally got off SUPER easy with the flooding, so I feel like I shouldn't complain, but it is still really upsetting to see how deep the water is and how much of the area was affected.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Kate, trust me, it's traumatic. You have every right to be upset and to complain.

“Not dead yet!”

I haven't lived in Nashville for seventeen years, Kate, and it's making me choke up, seeing and reading the stories of what's going on.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Kate, when you're city is in emergency, and to echo Dana, you do have every right to be upset. We have a very famous line out of a poem here, "The man is the pattern of the landscape of his homeland". And it is.

And forgive my unAmericaness, but which city is it?

Thanks, y'all. Not much I can do right now but push on with my to-do list, but it's hard not to let it affect me. Not a good day.

edit: Shir, it's Nashville, Tennessee.
