Oh no, stupid body. You won't get ill on me NOW. So what if I've asked more than ever this past few months out of you, and didn't give you the proper rest. Man up!
Tara ,'Get It Done'
Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
If you're going through Amarillo consider the Big Texas Steakhouse (??not sure on the name), that's been on King Of the Hill, where if you eat a 72 ounce steak dinner in an hour, it's free! My friends and I didn't even try, but it was entertaining nonetheless. And there's a Big Giant Cross nearby too. But we'd already seen one that morning in Oklahoma, so we didn't stop.
No, he was a navy recruit in WWII. We do think that the asbestos exposure probably happened during his military service.
Yeah, there's a strong connection between working in the Navy in that era and asbestos exposure. I mention it because he'd be eligible to file a claim and would certainly get some money for it. It wouldn't come through him but it would benefit your grandmother, and it's a not insignificant chunk of money.
That may not be something they want to do but it could make a difference in her life and since asbestos claims are handled in a formulaic manner he'd really just need an attorney who specialized in asbestos claims to file the original motion.
if you eat a 72 ounce steak dinner in an hour, it's free!Ha! OMG. I have trouble eating a 12 ouncer. 72? My gall bladder would form a revolution, riot, and jump out of my torso. But I'll keep an eye out for it.

The quadruple bypass, however, is NOT.
Yeah, I'd say WATCH someone do it, rather than do it yourself, omnis!
OK, IKEA opens at 10AM
The Girl won't go to Ikea. She truly believes it is responsible for all the relationship break-ups in the WORLD. I try to entice her with cheap tables, but nope.
"Fame leads to riches. Riches lead to a Nintendo DS"
Was that was Yoda was trying to say?
I firmly join in the 'fuck cancer' sentiment. And will add a 'big up the medical profession'. Good wishes and ~ma to Anne and Sail. (Don't listen to statistics. The Girl's father was given a 30% chance of seeing out the year. He's just gone up to about 70% and rising for surviving the next five. It's a weird weird thing is cancer.)
Thanks for all the congratses! We are very happy (although The Girl did say "What kind of name is Ivy?" and I had to glare at her down the phone). I called my sister and brother-in-law last night and they hadn't slept for about 48 hours. (Who'd have a baby?) She had Ivy at home and is very very happy about that!
And to wee Ivy, welcome to the world. Be patient, the Buffistas are trying to set it straight. Or as straight as it's liable to get with us around.
Thank you. I shall tell her that. One day :)
May your family dote on you.
Oh, they are. My brother-in-law was going on about how she looks like her sister. I said, dude, she looks like YOU. He hadn't noticed. She totally does. Spitting image.
And now I am going to my mother's for the weekend. (Don't have time to join Doctor Who discussion in Boxset till I get there. Wah.) I expect she will be revelling in having a new grandchild. She loves being a grandma. It's so sweet. See you all soon!
Omnis, driving down 66 sounds like a lot of fun. Enjoy!
I'm finding it interesting to read your travel reports, omnis, even if I'm not directly commenting a lot. When I moved up here from Arizona, I think we used the I-40/Rt 66 for some parts, but I kinda was not entirely conscious during most of the trip.
I am really struggling with the water situation here in Boston. I go back and forth between what an inconvenience it is and how completely amazingly privileged we are here in the United States. I don't care how poor I have ever been, I have always had water. Even now, I still have water, even if I can't drink it without boiling (or buying bottled).
I imagine that the backlash from this pipe break is going to be fierce, but I wish people would take a moment and realize how we really just have so very much in this country, even when we think we have so very little.
