I am really struggling with the water situation here in Boston. I go back and forth between what an inconvenience it is and how completely amazingly privileged we are here in the United States. I don't care how poor I have ever been, I have always had water. Even now, I still have water, even if I can't drink it without boiling (or buying bottled).
I imagine that the backlash from this pipe break is going to be fierce, but I wish people would take a moment and realize how we really just have so very much in this country, even when we think we have so very little.
vw, word.

DCJ, you rock! OK, got 20 min to get out of this room. shower was strange. Drop ceilings, no soap dish thingy in the bath/shower area, and they replaced the heat lamp with a compact fluorescent. brrrr. Other than that, the room was fine.
So I did something odd last night.
omnis, you're roadtripping from Texas to California? That sounds awesome! Except for all the desert.
The desert has its own beauty, if you aren't traveling in the summer.
Go, P-C! Good job, handing out your card!
The deserts are quite nice in this part of the world. And I have 2 gallons of water in the car, just in case.
Found a place still serving breakfast! Woot. 60 mins until the museuam opens. It's gorgeous here. Blue sky and 75°!
Springtime is the best time in the desert, especially a wet spring like this one. There should be green stuff all over.
I love the desert in springtime! I may need to make a day trip to Joshua Tree next weekend.
