Angel: How're you feeling? Faith: Like I did mushrooms and got eaten by a bear.

'A Hole in the World'

Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Compassionately intolerant

Oh man. I could SO use a motivational group. My Mastermind group withered on the vine...completely counter to purpose.

But I will be delivering Gordon's eulogy tomorrow until evening.

Let me know how it goes and I'll join in next time!

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Thank you all for the good wishes.

Was he in the Vietnam War? A recent study came out that linked mesothiloma to Agent Orange.

No, he was a navy recruit in WWII. We do think that the asbestos exposure probably happened during his military service. He's had a good, long run, but not long enough.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Fuck cancer indeed.

I had an uncle who worked the motor pool for a fair bit of his time in the marines (Korea). Lots of work on brakes, lots of asbestos exposure. They didn't really know about the hazards then.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

I'd love to make the motivational thing semi-regular.

Asbestos was very common in shipyards. Uggh.

My only plan tomorrow is to go to ikea...let me check when they open. I've been waking up early, so I could go there, come back, and do stuff. Not planning to buy big stuff there, just odds and ends

meara - May 01, 2010 3:20:01 pm PDT #17858 of 30000

OK, IKEA opens at 10AM (ridic!) so...noon? 3PM your time?

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Oh, I am so glad that meara checked and I didn't have to post IKEA opening times from memory and out myself as an addict. Erm...

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

I have changed my plans a little. Driving is slower on the back roads, which is cool. So not driving on to Amarillo area tonight. I am in Clinton, OK. And tomorrow I'm going to the Route 66 Museum! BooYa! Too bad they don't open until 1pm. It was a nice drive today. Chatted with my Aunt on the leg from Dallas to OKC. Then my brother called me just as I was turning onto Rt 66. Then talked to a former co-worker (who has crush on another co-worker). Got out in a couple places. Saw a big blade from a wind turbine on display outside of the city hall, so got out and took a couple snaps. Then a couple towns later, saw an amphitheater built with the WPA. Very cool Snapped a bunch of pics there. Now, at a Super8 hotel. I tried to find the Rio Siesta Motel. Alas, couldn't find. Might be ancient history. The joys of Route 66, right?

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I could be motivated/motivate tomorrow sometime easte coast afternoon if people aren't done!

Me too, definitely. I'm thinking about going to the farmers market in the morning, but even if I don't, I really need to clean and do laundry.
