Friday! This seems like it was a really long week, even though I only worked three days. Maybe because Monday and Tuesday were spent driving up to NJ, drinking, eating Thai food, and driving back again.
I'm feeling totally overwhelmed by tasks. When I look at it objectively, there are only two, relatively minor, things that I have to do, but they seem enormous. I hate that. I wish I could just do what needs to get done instead of making everything into a big difficult deal.
~ma to them as needs it!
Zen, I so feel you. I know I waste a lot of time and energy freaking out that would be much better applied to, you know, getting stuff done.
Just got back from being in the woods. Stripped all the way in the bathroom to change clothes, found two ticks crawling on me. Ugggh! Not scared of bugs, but squicked by ticks. Let's hope I found them all.
Sigh. I mostly like the project I work on, but SO MANY TIMES they keep thinking they're being smart, and not realizing they're SO not thinking ahead.
Like, there's this plan where we want to get stuff done quickly, but it involves people who come in for a visit, and then are given a diary to fill out for a week, and don't usually bring that in until their next visit, three months later. So they're like "For the people near when we want to end, we'll give them an envelope, so they can mail it back". Which is a fine idea. Except it didn't occur to them that they needed to start doing this two or three months ahead of time--not JUST for the people right at the end, but for the people who were coming in two months ahead of time, but wouldn't be back for their next visit until after the time they wanted to see these diaries! And now some of them have already happened. And this is so not the first time... Sigh.
TICK CHECK! *shudder*
smonster--make sure you spray down with some insect repellent next time you go out. And wear pants! And light colored clothes. And socks! And have someone check your neck and behind your ears.

Ticks, I hate those fuckers.
I did not spray down, but I was wearing long socks and pants and a long-sleeve light colored shirt. Next time I need to do the "tuck pants into socks" trick - both of the ones I found had likely crawled up my jeans. I'm totally paranoid about every little itch right now. I'll strip down again when I get home, but thankfully there are big mirrors in the bathroom so I was able to be pretty darn thorough. And I changed all my clothes but underwear and I checked those, so.
ICK.
Ticks, I hate those fuckers.
