I knew it was Thursday. (Always a four-day weekend, right?)
Unless you work for a company that makes their employees work the day after Thanksgiving...

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

The butternut squash soup is simmering on the stove smelling yummy. Otherwise I am trying to stay out of Mom's way.
I'm still in my pj's, watching Top Chef reruns.
We'll load up the car and go to my friend's house in another hour or so.
The prosecco is opened! The celebrating can officially begin.

grins beatifically.
What?!
OK, I've now made four dishes: pumpkin pie, green bean mushroom casserole, butternut squash and chestnut casserole, and stuffing. Next up is mashed potatoes, and then my part of this is done.
ZOMGWTFTHANKSGIVING
flops onto thread couch
There was no way to get out of NYC before yesterday this year, so ALL of my cooking was done today. Woke up at 7:30 this morning and this is the first break I've had except for a quick lunch while the pumpkin was in the oven.
So far:
Still to go:
dies of exhaustion
Bread is done, second cornbread is done, gingerbread is done. Bird and dressing and potatoes are ready for the oven. Carrots and beans are last-minute-ish preparations. House is in decent shape.
Dessert dilemma: second dessert (apple (with possible cranberry) pie or cobbler or crumble) vs. use the gingerbread as a base with apple (with possible cranberry) sauce/compotey business. The difference is basically presentation - something composed vs. serving the same basic fruit stuff in a separate pan, so not much more difficulty in prep either way.
Hope all you madly-cooking-and-baking people have fun this afternoon!
