Well, we may not have parted on the best of terms. I realize certain words were exchanged. Also, certain... bullets. But that's air through the engine. It's past. We're business people.

Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Hahaha! That sounds like some of the e-mails I get from people interested in the language programs we offer. "I didn't hear from you within 5 minutes of sending my e-mail, how dare you slack at me???"

I sent one requester, who wanted to know what building a class was in, a map of campus with the 6 buildings we use highlighted in red, building names right on top of the buildings, street names in all caps, etc. I got back a request: "I can't find building _____ on the map. I need a street address." One of six buildings, outlined in red with the street name right above it. Possibly color blind? I dunno. The really amazing thing is, she works on campus within blocks of here. She's within a 6 block radius of the building she can't find on the map. I despair.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

so he's sorry to inform them that he will not be submitting an application

I know that whole company cried and cried about this. They are probably still crying unconsolably.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

My favorite line from the 2nd email.

I'm sorry you have gotten us off on the wrong foot

I have a friend whose statuses come off in that tone. There's something about it I can only describe as Tim Gunn channeling Holly Golightly by way of Miss Manners.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

It is not trolling. I get these emails all the time. The first email was pretty bad, too- It was like:

"I saw this in Playbill sometime (maybe last week) and I was just wondering if this would lead to full-time employment. How many of these interns have gained full-time employment from you? Does full-time employment ever happen? Because I would not want to waste my time on something that did not lead to full-time employment. So does it lead to full-time employment."

Yes, this internship leads to full-time employment. For everyone. Except you.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

It is not trolling. I get these emails all the time.

So people are actually like this? Every time I want to give humanity the benefit of the doubt...

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

People are actually like this. Yep, yep, yep.

It's why I spend so much time at Buffistas, huddling around the blazing bonfire of sanity and snark, in a world made of glaciers of ice decanted from the river of morons.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

I know that whole company cried and cried about this. They are probably still crying unconsolably.

well, yes, if you laugh hard enough you'll end up crying

And they should have responded like this.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

A job listed in Playbill.com is probably a theater related job. Dude. Chill! Try decaf, k? Wow! I hope non of the students I will have to deal with will be that bad. I know I'll be in CA, but that kind of tude will get my repressed NYer out to the nines!

ION, right now, I am feeling very much like one of those coin sorter machines. Ya know, dump the change, it has a gear with a hole for each sized coin, spinning coins to different directions. Well, that's what I am doing. This goes here, that there, and ooo that can go with that pile. A handful of partially packed boxes. Things are coming to the last 1/4 of small stuff. It doesn't look like the end, but having done this before, I know it's getting close. Oy. I hate packing. Plus, got a headache. Also, took the car into the shop to get the twice over before big road trip. $700+. Yikes. I budgeted some of that in, so not horrible. But still. It's all preventive stuff, so better here, than in the middle of the desert between here and CA, right?

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

he's sorry to inform them that he will not be submitting an application.

For positions that were ALREADY FILLED. So in addition to being a world-class entitled douche, he also has reading comprehension problems.
