Oh meara, congratulations! Also, you are commendable for not scaring the neighbors by being yelly on the phone with the bank.
Seska, you and the Girl are great for helping stranded people. What a neat thing to do--and to be able to do.
I can't talk Stephanie into the official Steph corset? Imagine the F2Fs!
Bonny, that's great to know, should any of us need to pull that card.
Nora, all best thoughts to Taz--and you. And quester, all good luck to you, too.
I can't talk Stephanie into the official Steph corset? Imagine the F2Fs!
yes, but I can't wear the same thing every time! I mean, if I could come up with just one or two other uses for it, I would get it, but I hate to buy something just for one event.
I see your dilemma. I just need to get the mental (drop dead gorgeous) image of the three of you out of my head--or rather keep it there, and my mouth shut.
I forgot to mention - The Girl was interviewed about her mini-rescue on BBC London news this morning. It was just aired. Weird experience, seeing your fiancee on the telly.
I heard the British Navy is doing essentially the same thing and that there's a plan to fly Britons (does that include everyone?) to Madrid and then home by Navy from there.
Is anyone else having visions of Dunkirk 1940 in their heads? Maybe it's just because I'm a bit of a WWII buff. Either way, good for you Seska for helping stranded travelers. Bring lots of water and healthy munchies, in case you get stranded too. With that much confusion, mistakes are bound to be made.
ION- in an effort to clear the pantry a bit, last night I made a ziti. Cleared a box of pasta and two jars of sauce. Alas, I had a serious carb-coma while watching Fantastic Mr Fox, and then couldn't fall asleep until well past 4am. Fast forward to this morning, where I slept through SEVEN alarms! Oy. Tired now.
Weird experience, seeing your fiancee on the telly.
Be thankful it was for something good, and not "Britons Most Wanted!" (assuming there is a UK version of that show).
Is anyone else having visions of Dunkirk 1940 in their heads?
Yes. (Lots of private boats were used to evacuate Dunkirk.)
Dunkirk was the first thing I thought of. I didn't say anything for superstition of drawing gunfire misfortune on the rescue efforts.
Seska, that is very cool! Both the rescue mission and the Girl being on TV.
Is anyone else having visions of Dunkirk 1940 in their heads?
Yes, possibly because I just read a book where Dunkirk was a thing (Connie Willis and the whole time traveling historians and such). But this would be a rather...happier evacuation. :)
So weird--I just got a facebook message from the old owners of the house!! Guess that's what comes of having a unique name!! (Basically just said 'Enjoy! We loved the bedroom view, let us know if you want any recommendations on the area")
