'Destiny'
Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Go Kristin!
I'm glad that y'all and Nathaniel found each other, beth.
I would love to work 10 to 5 with an hour lunch. I know, not feasible. I try to get to work at 8, my official start time is 8:30, and sometimes I miss the mark badly. I've been written up before. There's pressure to be consistent, I think largely b/c some of my office has to swipe in and only have TWO MINUTES grace. The fact that my job is entirely different than theirs is irrelevant, as is the fact that my supervisor is FAR from being the poster child for consistent start time. ::shrugs:: I wish I knew what my ideal situation was, I really don't even know. So here I am, slogging along.

Well it couldn't be a "yellow" one could it?

But that would destroy all his power.
It's Friday afternoon, I haven't been sleeping well, and I'm plowing through Google Alerts for news affecting the design and construction industry ... I'm easily amused.

The biggest thing that is bad for the environment with filming is the sets. We were talking about that at work today. A show that shoots down here in TX (well, pilot + 5 episodes) was set in a law firm, so lots of fancy glass and wood offices. Show is canceled. They put a catch can around the glass, and toss a hammer into it, and throws it all out. Breaks the heart, no?
I used to work 9:30 to 6:30, and mostly was 9:45ish to...whenever. I do looooove the flexibility of my current job, much as I sometimes curse the "Hi, I was at the airport at 5:30AM" or "I got home at 9PM", there are other bennies of "I woke up at 8AM and was on a conference call in my pajamas and then took a shower after and got coffee and now am watching TV for an hour" etc.
I work in a different building than my boss and the rest of my coworkers, so no one knows when I'm here or not. I aim for 9:30, get in closer to 10, but rare is the day when I leave the office before 6. back when I had the commute, I generally didn't leave before 6:30 because the traffic was bad.
Yeah, the traffic is a large part of why I go in later and stay later.
I have not really tried to telecommute (mostly because I wouldn't have access to everything as a contractor). The one time I had to because the building was closed for a snow day, I had to "work from bar" because our internet access was out at the house. I don't think anyone would care.
It's about to get to the point where I may have to work from home once every two weeks or so though, because I'm getting a lot of people dropping by my cube and making it difficult to get my crucial stuff done-not timewise, but concentration-wise.
