Gunn: The final score can't be rigged. I don't care how many players you grease, that last shot always comes up a question mark. But here's the thing. You never know when you're taking it. It could be when you're duking it out with the Legion of Doom, or just crossing the street deciding where to have brunch. So you just treat it like it was up to you—the world in balance—'cause you never know when it is.

Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

visual vs. auditory? We are used to reading incorrect stuff (hello text messages and internet), but not hearing it.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

"More movie, less commercials" on TNT my skin itches and I have to shout, "fewer!" at the teevee?

I do that to the radio ("More music, less commercials").

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Perhaps also because the grocery signs have been around since before I knew the rule.

I was just trying to type "farther vs further" into the search window but my computer was being pokey and I didn't catch on until it said "fartfartfart". I had to share.

Compassionately intolerant

Perfect! Thanks Stephanie. I'm going to get some right away. It seems like just the thing.

I have to confess that I'm in the 'you can't tell me I can't!' frame of mind. I do what I say I'm going to do, and being turned away...even from a terrifying event...just gets my Irish up.

In a way, this bump may be a blessing.

I have no idea why having low iron is bad for me, but I suppose I should find out and then see how I feel when it's closer to normal.

Yours could very well be in the range of normal, just too low for the Red Cross.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Iron rich foods:

Red meat, liver
Egg yolks
Dark, leafy greens (only if also eaten with vitamin C to aid absorption)
Beans, legumes
Vitamins (be forewarned, some people have digestive issues with iron pills, I know I do)

they don't want my blood

They don't want mine, either, because of the CJD.

From what I remember, low iron can mean getting tired easily, low energy, that sort of thing.

Every time I think about going to donate blood, it's still too soon after getting a tattoo. But since it's been, what, three years since my last one, I should try again.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Bonny, you did great! You should be proud of yourself!

Dammit. OK, I said for my birthday, right? That's not until July. Whew. 3 months to get my iron and my Irish up.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Oof. Crouching down to fiddle with cables behind my TV is not good for my ankle. However, I will supposedly have working cable again in 45 minutes.
