Apparently, once you give notice you can no longer ask or be approved for any time off. There are so many things I like about this job, and will miss. But this is leaving a bad taste in my mouth.
I think that's pretty usual. At least, it seems to have been the case with a handful of friends.
My advisor has also grown a beard. I'm suspicious.
What happens at a lot of theaters, the HR policies are imposed upon the theater by a board member, who owns/runs a big corporation. So they often don't seem to make sense or capture the spirit of theater folk. I'm cool with the sick days. And personal days are a benefit for the workers, but vacation is earned, and floating holiday is reimbursement. Seems wrong to not reimburse me for 4 holidays I had to work.
I should just let it go.

As long as its not a goatee you're in the clear evil-twin-wise.
I seem to have fallen into a well of self-pity. I really need to find some physical activity to do. All the things that I can think of that are fun and de-stressing are things I can't do now with my ankle this bad. I definitely can't dance. I might be able to ride my bike, but I'm not sure. Karate is out. Can't skate. Can't rollerblade. My apartment is just full of things I can't do.
Swimming? Or even a water aerobics class where they use floats for "weights"?
I would love to do water aerobics, but the pool at the university gym doesn't offer it, and the nearest place that does is too far away for me to go on any regular basis. I don't really like swimming laps.
Hmm. The gym has a "gentle yoga" class that it says is good for people with limitations or people recovering from injuries. It's at a time that doesn't work too well with my schedule, though.
Insomnia again. W. T. F. I wonder if it's related to the thyroid meds I just started taking.
Ma to them as needs it. Trying this sleep thing again.
I'm sorry, smonster. I've had insomnia a lot this week, and it's maddening. Sending you sleep vibes from the other coast.
I'm about to go pick Drew up from the airport (yay!). He's only home until Saturday and then gone on business again until the 28th. It's good since business was slow until recently, but I miss him.
