That's happened, too! Not to my little group; we're all on the same "level". But one of my friends was friends at their previous job with the woman who got hired to be the boss of our department. Whew. They had to stop eating lunch together. Though I think they remained friends outside the office.

I see a logical solution here. the Miracleborns move to seattle and rent Plei's house.
OTOH, short sales can take many years to process, the banks are all so backlogged, so that place might still be worth looking into. Especially if there are two different banks involved, that's a pretty good sign that it will never get sold.
And Plei a buyer for their house. Or awesome renters. House~ma in the other direction, basically.

Also, e_o, because she is so right about short sales. The house across the street from us in Jacksonville is a short sale and was on the market for at least eight months longer than ours, when we put ours up for sale. Their house is about three hundred square feet larger than ours, has a pool and spa, which we didn't have, they'd lowered the price several times, and apparently had an offer at one point, yet we sold ours and theirs is still on the market.
Which, actually, reminds me, the new owners took possession of the Jacksonville house today-- we no longer have two houses! WOOT.
(Dear Universe, just a little First World Request, but if we EVER have to have two houses again, can one be a vacation cottage? Preferably on Buffista Island? Ta ever so.)
JZ, there is a 3-year-old girl downstairs that Matilda needs to meet. I think they would be incredibly entertaining together.
