See how I'm not punching him? I think I've grown.

Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I have to admit to a preference for the third one, although I like the draping of the dark purple.

And, well, FLY IN FOR TAPAS! It's a perfectly cromulent use of money!

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Hey, I'm not workin', I've got the time.

Well, I have a guest room! Whattya say to that, huh?!

It's pretty close to the, er, bridal suite, tho...

I GOTTA COUCH!

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

Woot for Erin! Congrats. Ya know, if that judge can't do it, there are a number of Buffistas that can hitch ya. IJS.

Callaluna, congrats on lil Baby Luna (and welcome to the world lil one). Sorry to hear it was an ordeal, but happy to hear you are ok. Think of the wonderful guilt trips you can send Teenage!Luna on when she gets eye-rolley and whatevers you.

Connie, good to see your pixels. Rest easy. Heal. Get better.

182 job applications. One more school said they want to interview me. (I don't know how many people they're interviewing, but based on the scheduling, it can't be more than 12.)
Woot! Hil that is great. Top 12! Better than a baker's dozen! Clearly they know you are the cheese. Go into that interview, and knock em dead! (Maybe 182 is THE number. Can't help but remember that AWESOME movie from the 80's, "Turk 182"... mmmkay, maybe I'm not helping with that part, on to the rest of the 'meara')

But you know, better than killing would be brunch with Buffistas ... I'm just saying
Nods with Toddson. Ya, let's put a hush on the group talk of killing spree, especially of folks in office. Conspiracy. Yikes. Bad. Let's rise above the various idiots who made the news after healthcare passed. Let's just mount campaigns to vote the fuckers out that are pissing us off. Find the hooker they hired and bring her into the light. Shame can be a wonderful thing.

Running up beside me and trying to get me to talk because I'm a "beautiful young lady" (which I'm not, for the record)
Confused. Pix... Beautiful, check... young, check... lady, check... huh. Dunno. Either way, sounds like that dude needs a body check. Go hockey on his ass. Can Zoe growl on command? That dude does need to learn some manners, and take a hint. Hope you don't run into him again.

he was no longer a fan of mine because I was horribly rude to him and slighted him by not stopping to talk.
Surely there is a lesson from GCS about respecting others, and realizing some folks have schedules of their own, and can't talk to every tom, dick and harry on the street. Let's not forget "Misery", and how skin can crawl at the "I'm your number one fan" type of moments.

I interviewed with a total of 6 people in a bit over 4 hours. I thought it went extremely well and I'm really hopeful.
Woot, Misguided! Tons of get-it~ma!!

Tom was called by one of the NO companies he's applied for and will have a phone interview next Thursday!
Ohhh! Very exciting! Go get 'em Tom!

I think there was more. But I need bed time.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

Someone mentioned hot cross buns and now I want some. I wonder if The Girl would mind. She did taunt my Good Friday semi-fast by eating chocolate in front of me this morning. Ah, multi-faith family fun.

Connie, I hope taking oxygen to work isn't too stressful. Wishing you a quick recovery.

Erin, ooh, the second one! (You're right though - minus the jewel.)

ETA: Congrats on the interview, Hil! Hope it goes well.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Glad you're ok, connie.

Hil, Patty Cake bakery in Columbus is the best vegan bakery ever. There is also a vegan restaurant called Benevelance.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

I'm totally, totally skipping.

Congrats on Luna, Callaluna!

Also? Just returned from one of the Funnest. Cons. Ever. [link]

It wasn't perfect. They did A LOT of mistakes. But God dammit, it was fun, my friends are wonderful (guess who has two thumbs and 10 inches pile of Sandman and Buffy comics to read? This girl! My seminars are so going no where this year, but I Don't Care), and apparently the male geeks are loving me, and something needs to be done about it.

I may be tired now. My spelling may have been last seen in Tel Aviv. My hair might be fluffy in that horrid climate. But oh, it was fun.

I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night.

Okay, this has been nagging at me for a couple of days so I'm going to throw it out there and see if maybe one of you can figure it out and let me move on to thinking about other things - like my cross-country move tomorrow. In a Entertainment Weekly online story, the executive producer of the series 24 was reacting to fan discontent about yet another character being a double agent and said

'I understand how it appears [to be] tiresome and lazy storytelling, but I really would betray anyone to try to sit in our chair and figure out how to do 24 continuous, real-time episodes, without using certain devices,'

The word betray in that context makes no sense to me but I keep thinking there is a word with a similar sound that does mean dare or challenge - yet I can't come up with it. Can someone help me let this go?

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

The closest I can think of is defy.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

lcat, good luck and safe travels for your move. I'm with Hil about the word being defy. I think that executive producer has betrayal on his/her furry little brain.

ETA: correct word of my own. Gah, the gronk is mightier than the keyboard.
