I'm starting to wonder if I shouldn't just chuck high tech and find a summer job running a resort again.

Oh yeah.
'Bushwhacked'
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"The effects of sophisticated technologies (birth control medications, sexual surrogacy) on reproduction are also of primary interest in Male Studies."
Oh HELL NO.
This is classic MRA stuff - birth control exists, therefore I shouldn't have to pay child support. PLASTIC HAND TEARS.
has anyone read Keith Olbermann's commentary from Monday blasting the republicans? Whew. [link]
I have a couple of conservative friends from college that are getting tired of that party, too.
Kindle and Book Nook owners, how does that compare? I really have no experience yet with these devices.
I've been intrigued by that Kobo Reader that tommyrot linked to in technology.
$150 is the kind of price point I think dedicated e-readers should be at. The problem is that the other thing I'd like is be able to buy e-books from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Borders, & check out e-books from the Library and have them all work on the same e-reader. Not too likely. I'm sure Apple will have a completely closed ecosystem just like Amazon, but one can hope there might be a standard DRM one day.
I knocked my iPhone off the nightstand this morning and put a nice spiderweb crack in the glass, right up by the earpiece.
FUCK!!!! I really can't afford a new phone right now.
And it had the hardshell case on, and a protective film and everything. I've dropped it on harder surfaces at greater speed from a greater height. Damn it.
Ugh, Sean. Though my boss did the same thing to his iPhone about six months ago, decided he didn't want to pay to replace the cover, and it's continued to work perfectly, touchscreen and all. The crack looks ugly as can be, but it doesn't seem to be affecting the actual stuff-doing part of the phone.
As Olbermann goes, so goes my nation. Special Comments are foamy. Although it does make me feel like a fetishist when election coverage makes me blush and people are like "Wow, there's *really* something different about you today? Have you lost weight?" the next day.(Because that's the only thing that could ever make a gal like me look better, naturally) As for those conference guys, I'd love to roll past the courthouse as they file in and give them each twenty bucks and tell them to buy something pretty.
Yeah, it's not on the screen itself, and the cracks curve away from the screen, so I'm hoping I can tolerate it for two months until I qualify for another subsidized iPhone (and hopefully the new models will be out by then).
Our records indicate that you will be eligible for an upgrade at a discounted price on 05/29/2010
I won't generalize about all men, but ime most guys who want to talk about men's studies are crybaby sore loser knobwanks whose fathers probably have a good reason to be tough on them, what with the whole knobwank thing. There are guys who research masculinity and whatever, but they're usually not the ones going all Orly Taitz.
I love erika.
Frankly, the menz who generally clamor for "Men's Studies" classes are coming at it from the same attitude espoused by people who say "BLACK History month? When do we get WHITE History month???", deliberately ignoring the fact that, in America at least, every DAY is White History Day.
Well, the overwhelming majority of higher academia is built on a foundation of Men's Studies, and is suffused with it. The idea that there even HAS to be Women's Studies is BECAUSE everything else is already de facto Men's Studies.
Jesus. Check your goddamn privilege and shut the fuck up and just take American History 101.
"February...shortest damn month of the year.' (/Spike Lee) One of my favorite Election Night/ Inaugural memories was watching Spike Lee(of whom I am the unlikeliest, outside demographic, fan ever) and being like "What is that unaccustomed expression on Spike Lee's face?" and realizing that Spike Lee was *beaming*. I never thought I'd ever see that. Ever. Yeah, absolutely, not talking about anyone I know from b.org and I absolutely believe that studying masculinity is a legitimate pursuit. But there are men making everything ALL about them and dressing it up in feminist colors. ARGH...She-Hulk SMASH.
