I can hear three different conversations right now -- two from outside, and one from across the hall. Hearing multiple conversations at the same time like that always makes my brain all jittery. I really need to get some sleep, but no way until at least two of these groups decide to be quiet.
Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Do earplugs help you, Hil. I couldn't sleep without them many nights.
And speaking of sleep, g'night Bitches.
Hmm. I do have earplugs that I use for studying, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to sleep with them in. Worth a shot, though.
can you call the cops about the folks in the alley? Or throw water balloons and hope the crazies scatter?
Hello, Misguided!
Symposium on Male Studies
I'm confused. What seems to be the problem?
Also? Still a little bit sick. Effing body. Can't wait for the weekend's papers - family showed consideration and actually bought the newspaper I respect most (read: the one that actually proofread and doesn't assume that we're all brainless media zombies).
Also also? It's raining outside! Yay!
And Hil - good luck. You're handling so much shit, I have no idea how do you do it.
Gah, Hil. You need a quieter place.
Also, now that I'm getting ready for work and my review, I'd like to repeat my request for ~ma from upthread. It'll all be over in about five hours. I'm not expecting anything awful, but I don't know what to expect.
Review ~ma Anne. Early reviewer says all awesomeness.
Lots of ~ma to you, Anne. I hope you were able to get some sleep.
Shir, men getting together to whine about how tough it is to be a man in today's society because society is just so unjust towards men, is a bit like Nile crocodiles complaining that modern tourists are just so hard on their teeth. That's not a perfect analogy, but the best I can come up with this early in the morning. Maybe it's more like the Romans whining that the people they conquered just don't understand. Actually, the best analogy is a bunch of white Americans reacting to the creation of African-American Studies classes by demanding Caucasian Studies classes. Men created the patriarchal society in which we live, and gathering like that isn't about them wanting to help eliminate the patriarchy and work to create a truly equal and fair society. It's more likely that what they are going to do is complain about how unfair women have been in trying to gain equality.
What seems to be the problem?
Roughly, the fact that male studies is 95% of the university world already.
