OK, going to bed now. Ankle still hurts, but I need to get on a better sleep schedule, so I'll read for a while until I can get to sleep.

Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
I immediately said "Battle of Hastings."
Hubby and I do that! If it's a 4-digit number beginning with 1 or lower, we try to come up with the historical reference. It's fun pulling out "Sack of Lindisfarne" at the cash register.
Can't sleep. Too much hurt. Also, hungry.
edit: hmm. Late night search through my kitchen led to chickpea salad -- canned chickpeas, mashed a little with a fork, mixed with mayo. It would be better with some carrot, but this works. I saw a recipe once that had carrot and celery and something else and also some crumbled seaweed that was supposed to give it a fishy taste like tuna salad.
Hmm. I could see that. Maybe capers?
Can I ask why we're cheering the nuns in this situation, exactly? I'm all for health care reform, but the bill in it's current state (Stupak amendment intact) is pretty visciously anti-choice, which this group of nuns sees as a plus. They're campaigning on a platform of "this health care bill definitely won't pay for abortions, YAY!" Ew.
Gronklies. My ankle is killing me. I'm trying crutches for today, to see how that goes.
I just came in, but I think it wasn't so much, "YAY Nuns!" but "Fuck Stupak" for saying when he wants to talk about abortion, he talks to the Bishops (who are, you know, all men).
Stupak is a giant asshole.
I took my 50% as long as normal to get to work this morning (an extra 30 minutes). And, after Castle ROck (for those familiar with CO), there was a huge slow down going down a big hill on a sheet of ice. I, of course, was driving Joe's car which doesn't handle ice so well. Thankfully, I used my "I learned to drive in MN before anti-lock brakes" driving techniques and managed to avoid an accident. Still, after my friend died on Monday in a car accident made worse by icy roads, I was very freaked out.
Continuing safe travels, Stephanie. Freaking out was entirely understandable.
{{{Stephanie}}} I'm glad you are safe. Continued safe-driving~ma to you.
I heart Jon Stewart.
