You got fired, and you still hang around here like a big loser. Why can't he?

Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I would go with the fingers.

I saw a commercial today in support of the health care bill from the Catholic Hospital Association (or some such - the other major Catholic group taking a stand v the bishops).

I have so been in that position before, Dana. I usually go with fingers. It's better than some unholy attempt at using the stir stick that comes with the coffee.

Cheesecake sounds good. With strawberries.

I was supposed to call my health insurance company today to find out why they've been rejecting all my claims. I forgot to do that.

My ankle is not being cooperative today.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

Talked to the boss today. It was a busy day (again). Sent him an e-mail saying "when you get a second, can we chat?" His response was "I don't like your chats". He saw it coming. As usual, the anticipation was worse than the actual meeting. He did say "[managing director] wants to know, if budget wasn't a factor, how much would it take to keep you here". That was a tough question to answer. Told him it wasn't all about money for staying here, but the opportunity that the new job is. He was pretty cool about it all. Not happy, but understanding.

Then an hour later had meeting with my 2 staff members. So, word is starting to get out. Monday we will send out the 'everyone' e-mail blast. Tomorrow is opening, and I didn't want to upstage that.

Here's hoping that means I can sleep tonight.

I want to go to the beach. Or at least have a beer. (I'm watching TV. The show I'm watching has people drinking beer at a beach house. I'm easily suggestible.)

hey all. Much ~ma to everyone.

Back from New Orleans- had a great time and learned so much. However, I feel like I could sleep for about 10 days straight... and I don't feel so great.

I do have a kitty on me looking adorable though.

I think I'm having a "can't deal with this" night. Too many different things to deal with at once. Job stuff, pain stuff, dissertation stuff. Being in pain just makes it a whole lot harder to deal with everything else. (I've got ice and codeine right now.)

All is well that ends in pizza.

Andi says I'm evil.

After work tonight, I stopped at a Fleet Farm, a combination Hardware/lumber/ag store in this area.

As I was at the till, they rang up my order, "Ten sixty six."

I immediately said "Battle of Hastings."

The two teenagers running the checkout Looked puzzled.

"Don't mind me, it's my brain, I sometimes make connections with numbers and years."

"Oh!" says one of them, "are you a history teacher or something?"

No, I replied, just the way my brain makes associations.

One of them gave example of their birthdate came up once.

Then as I signed my credit card slip, I decided to have a bit of fun, "Well, 1066 is a famous date in any case. battle of Hastings, you know, when England defeated the Normans." and walked out smiling.

I hope they don't have it on a test someday...

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Codiene~ma to you, Hil. I hope you get a decent night's rest so you can cope better tomorrow.

Dana, going downstairs is the best choice. You really did have to.

OK, going to bed now. Ankle still hurts, but I need to get on a better sleep schedule, so I'll read for a while until I can get to sleep.
