Oh, and Happy Anniversary, Laura and DH!
Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Happy anniversary, Laura. Glad the kid is okay. Someone ought to teach a high school course on the Physics of Driving a Car.
Shir, comforting thoughts to your sister.
Omnis, congrats on getting the job! (Provided they don't crack your alias from that job in Tangiers...)
I had a few stupid driving incidents as a teenager, including a couple of out and out car chases, though I used doubling-back rather than speed. Luckily, never crashed.
Happy anniversary Laura! Sorry it started off so badly. That seems to be the way the day is going for many.
Shir, emails are a good way...though they can be just as filled with awkward small talk. :)

Yeah, me too. And once I decided to find out how fast my parents' Mercury Marquis with the 460 engine would go. Answer: 120 mph.
tommyrot, you're gonna drive me to drinkin' if you don't stop drivin' that hot rod Lincoln.
Heh.

I found out a Subaru could do 105 sustained speed once while driving on I-70. Nonetheless, I got passed more than once.

My 2000 Focus was limited by the engine computer to 110 mph. Weird - if you tried to go faster, the engine would just cut out completely until it slowed down a bit.
I think that was because its tires were not designed for sustained high-speed driving.
Yikes, Laura! I'm glad he's okay, but tell him he doesn't need to learn everything the hard way.
