Ten Rules For Writing Fiction, from various authors [link] . Each author's preoccupations tell you masses about them. Margaret Atwood takes two pencils on flights. Helen Dunmore likes writers' unions. Roddy Doyle advises "Do not place a photograph of your favourite author on your desk, especially if the author is one of the famous ones who committed suicide."
I've been offline today, and just caught up, so let me wish in-control vibes to smonster and askye, offer my congratulations! to Stephanie, send good energy to Seska to finish those applications, ease-ma to Hil, and hugs, hairpats, atta'ffistas, glitter, and chocolate for those in need, or just, you know, 'cause.
I was unwillingly awake until 3 am. Good-bye ADs, hello insomnia. Good thing I'm leaving early from work to get on the road, instead of navigating wintry roads after dark, on 2 hours 45 minutes sleep.
Seska, thanks for that link!
Good morning, sweet Bitches.
Talked to my BFF for hours last night. Felt like high school, except in high school we didn't do that because our folks couldn't afford it. We were both having little crises, and now we feel better. It's great to have someone who understands you and thinks you're wonderful anyway.
OMG. So my wracking coughing over the last few days has now led to lower back spasms to the point where I can't stand or walk or sit, or hardly even move while lying down. Intensely painful when I cough (so I am trying not to do that) and sneeze (can't help doing that.)
I have taken a muscle relaxant (Flexeril), an ativan, and have a topical lidocaine patch on my back. I am FREAKING THE FUCK OUT.
{{{Nora}}} Maybe a hot bath?
I am too scared that I wouldn't be able to get out of it once I got in...
Sorry, Nora. I didn't think of that. I hope you manage to find some relief soon.
Not even money motivates me to get past the block of anxiety, and I don't even know why. I have no clue what I'm afraid of.
Seriously! I have over $2000 to get reimbursed via my FSA, and I know it won't take me long to do the paperwork, and yet...
There was just a commercial for a new Cutting Edge movie. I know I'm going to have to watch it.
Toe pick!
