Mal: Okay. She won't be winning any beauty contests anytime soon. But she is solid. Ship like this, be with ya 'til the day you die. Zoe: 'Cause it's a deathtrap.

Spike's Bitches 45: That sure as hell wasn't in the brochure.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Our wings are not tired.

And I feel silly for adding this, because I don't need a disclaimer, but I've got NO problem at all with true conservatives. Some of my best friends (and, in fact, a favorite Buffista or two) are very old school conservative. I do have problems with people espousing falsehoods about the founding of our nation and those who want to strengthen the relationship between "church and state".

If they were, would that mean we'd already have single-payer health care? I could get behind that...

An excellent point, Missy.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

but I've got NO problem at all with true conservatives.

Me too. Personally I think the current Republican party is more authoritarian than conservative.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I think the current Republican party is more authoritarian than conservative.

The Republican Party or the Tea Party splinter movement? (Serious question - it's hard to tell them apart from inside my liberal bubble. The "conservative"/Tea Party movement seems to me to be so far outside the realm of sanity that I don't feel comfortable assigning them a space on the left/right spectrum, but I have no idea how well they represent Joe Republican On The Street.)

I'd say both.

Coding and Sleeping

I think the Tea Party is undefined, there's a lot of energy but I don't have a feel for any kind of platform. IMO, the Republican party is having some identity issues too, I'm having a hard time identifying an agenda aside from "against whatever Obama is for".

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I said yes, but I'm kind of puzzled as to why they bothered to send those emails, since there was nothing in the email to indicate what made the new positions any different from the one that we'd already applied to.

might be an HR policy to avoid mixups.

Joe heard my squeeing, took a look and declared "When you die, I'm putting your ashes in that."

oh, how I love Joe.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I'm up to 91 pages on my dissertation now. It needs serious editing, but I'm pretty much done with all the actual content -- I've got a bit of the last chapter left to write, and then I just need to write the introduction. Introductions always take me forever.
